SOURCE: Camera resets DATE and Time to Jan 2002 when

Some of these cameras cannot save the date, and has no internal battery to save the data. The best solution I have use is to buy another battery with these kinds of cameras and always have one charging, or take two batteries when you take pictures.
These older point and shoot cameras are nice, and slower than the newer ones, but will not save the data unless you keep the main battery in it, or replace the one to be charged with another battery within a very short time.

SOURCE: camera to show date and time

There is probably a small, secondary battery in your camera. It doesn't power the photo taking parts, only the date keeping and so on. Perhaps it is dead. Take it to a camera store and ask about it.

The back battery is faulty and it is important that to keep your date in order the battery needs to be replaced. You will need to open the camera to check the back up cell.

In the capture menu goto

I have Canon Ixus 80 IS. The LCD is permanently blue. Whi?

Hello -- Canon use BLUE as the first sign on color , have you gone into settings yet and inputted the date & time.
The camera is a still camera ..ie.. no video , so BLUE is the wait and see color. I think it's waiting for time , date , SD card to format , photo setting.
If nothing changes and you have done all these things then it's a SHOP repair.
First try removing the batteries - wait a few seconds and replace - this will act as a reset. -- Ray

Time/Date Stamp Problem

I'm sure you have done this already, but you have make sure you press the OK button after all the fields are set. Something else, make sure the batteries are new and charged.

For printing the date/time...
  1. Rotate the mode dial to A, P, SCENE, Tv, Av or M and turn on your ViviCam 8400.
  2. Press the menu button, then use "right" to select Mode 3 menu.
  3. Press "down" to select the Daet Imprint and change it to ON.
  4. Press the OK button to make this permanent.
  5. Then press the menu button again to exit the menu.
After this, all pictures will print with the date, and cannot be removed.

Hope this helps, if it does, please choose FixYa!
