Component video input is a high quality analog video signal separated by the three prime colors, red green and blue. You will need component video cables to make this connection.

Turn the television off.

Plug the connectors of each coaxial cable into their corresponding terminals on the TV.

Plug the other end of the cable into your other device that is also using component video, such as a cable box, video game console or DVD player, etc.

Power on the TV.

Press "component" on the remote.

Power on the device.

Samsung DVD-V3650 DVD Player / VCR Combo no sound when connected via component cable

Component connections between your DVD player and TV (they will be colored red, blue, and green) carry video only. You will need to connect two more cables for left and right audio channels. The connectors for these audio cables will be colored white and red for left and white respectively.

My samsung lcd tv will only show me black and white when i plug my wii in component 2, how do i make it go back to color?

Your problem may be that you need to select the "AV" input on the HDTV. Samsung HDTVs of late combine the composite video with the green input component video. To use the yellow composite video in the green input port you have to select the proper AV input on the TV which tells the TV to go composite video (yellow) instead of component video (green). Try this, it may work.

same problem, sent to comet homeserve, fobbed off by them.
Major component failure, common fault !
Samsung not interested unless you want to pay even more money for their people to give you the same bad news !
Time samsung held up their hands and admitted this tv has major component issues and should recall it !
Im in exactly the same boat as you.... a £2000 tv sitting in my front room that doesnt work properly because they use short shelf life parts to build !

Component cables on HDTV not working

have you tried hooking a different video source upto to the tv to make sure it is not the dvd player that is not giving a signal to the tv?  Like an Xbox 360 or anything else with component output.

Hi, I just purchased a Samsung series 3 330 model#LN40A330 I'am having problems with the AV inputs on back of television. I hooked up a DVD player to Component 1 it works fine Then I hooked up Nintendo...

I figured it out,
The solution to my problem was to update my video cables for my new HDTV.
I found out through trial and error that I can only have one Anolog device hooked up to the TV because with two Anolog devices hooked up the same way it must confuse the TV somehow making one of the inputs showing up in Black and White, So I purchased the color coded AV jacks and everthing works like a charm now.

HDMI Cable problem

Well, first you might want to try another hdmi connection behind your TV.If it appears to have the same message, you need to check your TV setup and be sure the HDMI video is active.
Secondly,go with the recommendation of the set top box.You will use component video cable to connect from your set top box component video output(Y PR PB) to your TV (Y PR PB) and see if that actually work.If so,just use the cable box for the time being and call your cable company for another cable box to replace this one!
