Kodak v550 easyschare camera

Turned on the camera, and the pixels no longer are able to show a clear picture, and the picture is made up of very bright colors...almost flourescent. It makes everything look almost cartoonish. If you place the pictures on the computer, they print fine. Seems to be a problem with the lcd screen. Can it be fixed? everything else seems to function properly. even the video, although you are no longer able to see what you are recording.

yes, the problem is the display on the lcd screen. It almost looks like a thermal image, this is the best way i can describe it.

As long as the pictures look fine it is something going on with the lcd display.

If it was taking pictures the same, it could be a special effect that is turned on or the CCD is bad. It sounds like the LCD display is bad. Some cameras can be repaired at a reasonable price with a new LCD display.

Have you replaced the batteries in the camera? That might take care of the problem.

Have a 4 gb sdhd card and cannot format it in kodak easyShare V550

The V550 uses MMC and SD cards, not SDHC cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and won't work. You need to go with MMC or SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

My camera will not close, previously would not

This is a lens error. KODAK suggests a repair for this fault.

However due to spare part shortage this model is no longer repaired. Instead KODAK offers a trade up option where you will have the opportunity to trade up to a newer model 25-30% cheaper than the market price.

This is not going to get repaired at a sensible price. Check out Kodak Technical support but I think you are looking at replacing the camera
