IPod blank screen

My iPod screen went blank after I clicked "OK" to an update notice on iTunes. It plays in my car and on my player and with my headphones but I can't see anything on the screen, althought it it backlit and I can't turn off the backlighting. It beeps twice when I put it into a player. I have already restored it - no help. HELP -- it's only six months old and warranty was for three months.

How do you upgrade ipod touch 2nd gen to be able to play fifa 11 we thought this was a 3rd gen when bought from argos in feb10 but told 3rd gen is onle 32gb or 64gb

to update your ipod touch second gen to 4.1 version you must connect to your itunes account on your computer with ipod attatched sync all apps, music, videos, everything because it will delete everything and needs everything backed up. then go to your ipod on itunes and it will say update, click it it will take around half an hour to update and restore you ipod fully. This worked for my ipod touch gen 2, it kept saying when i tried to update i still have things on my ipod not synced to itunes when i have synced multiple times but it updated ok and i do not notice anything missing. this is all i know about this i hope it helps.

Connect to iTunes,
Make sure you have the latest iTunes version
Connect your iPod,
On the main screen where you see a picture of your iPod ,
Just below the update button there is an option to reset the iPod.
iTunes will ask you to download and install , click that
there will be a small wizard where you have to click next a couple of times ,
Just follow the instructions and make sure your iPod is connected at all times.

Hi. This was a known issue with that version of the software update. Please try checking for any further updates. If there aren't any, try plugging your device in, clicking on it in iTunes, and playing music and video directly from the device through iTunes.
