Problems after 1 year of no usage

My MV630i lay idle for about a year. The battery would not then recharge so I bought a new battery. I charged it up a day or so ago - red flickering light turned to a constant red so that seemed to work OK - but then when I switch it on the screen remains grey and the canon logo etc does not seem to boot up. Through both the screen and the viewfinder all I can see is the grey blankness.

I notice there's a small "button" battery within the camcorder itself. do I need to repalce this or is the "fault something more sinister.

Any help appreciated.

Same problem - just a grey screen, even when connected to mains power

The small battery only keeps the date and time.

I would take into a shop and have them look at it. There appears to be something in the electronics that isn't comming up if it isn't working with a new battery or when it's plugged into an electrical outlet.

My makita batteries nolonger charge

Lithium batteries do have a life span determined by how many times the battery is discharged and recharged and how hard it is worked on the tool. Batteries get hot while charging and discharging and heat is what ages batteries. Lithium batteries, depending on usage, will last from one to three years. I've seen some last five years but that's rare. They also have numerous cells and a circuit board that can go bad and kill the battery. Chargers are designed to check the battery's condition and won't charge a battery if it detects something wrong. If your battery is under one year old, it's covered by the warranty. If it's over, you'll have to buy a new battery.

Coleman 18v drill CTP 8129 number 9408 label underside drill. Probably 30 hours total usage over 2 years. Appeared not to hold charge after 18 months - had to recharge before every use on a 1 week...

These batteries never last very long. That model of drill is no longer made but I did find some refurbished batteries on EBAY. However, with EBAY you get what you get. Personally, I would never buy a refurbished battery and besides, they are way overpriced for a refurb. Sorry my friend but you would be better off just buying a name brand drill with Ni-cAD batteries (18V or 24V are the most common). I have a 24V DeWalt that I love and replacement batteries are cheap.

The battery drains off very quickly as soon as i fully charge it and unplug it,, it hardly satys upto 12hours with minimal phone usage,, the battery metre usage shows cell standby 42% and also phone idle...

Go to teh phone settings, and under sync accounts disable all teh sync accounts that you are not using such as stocks etc. These constantly use up data and hence drains your battery as they do so in teh background. This should greatly improve your battery. If not, your battery must eb damaged and i woudl suggest you purchase an extended battery which may have up to 40% more battery life.

Quick discharging of the Iphone 3gs battery

Yes its normal. To maintain the most power adjust your brightness bar down to 1/4 or 1/2. Keep the push mail function off when you don't need it. Don't recharge the battery until the unit shuts itself off. Then recharge the battery to max before using. This is called conditioning the battery, even though many say you don't need to on lithum ion batteries because there is no memory effect. But their full of sh.t, cause you do the first time you get the battery and should do it once a month to extend the life of the battery.

Have an acer aspire 5002WLMi laptop bought second hand. no manual. old battery. If I bought a new battery, how long of a charge would I get. Is it ok to continually use my adapter/recharge cord when I use...

I use the adapter plugged in all day long, it will not do any damage to your battery. You can leave it plugged in a work as long as you want. Just make sure you get the lithium ion battery as that is the latest..in fact I would get it off of the Acer home page if possible. As for as how long a battery last, depends on the usage and how many times you recharge it. Lithium are good for over 1000 recharges so again depends on your usage. Its the recharge that wears it down. Hope this helps. Pls rate this solution.

I have Canon power shot S2 IS digital camera.I bought it around 2 years back. Now my camera is showing the sign of "change the batteries" even though the batteries are fully charged and the lens does not...

i suggest replacing a fresh battery will most likely solve your prob, overtime rechargeable battery can drain easily, try changing with a new battery and see if it does work well, there might be insufficient current, thats why it tends to drop of voltage easily upon using,
there is a specified lifetime for rechargeable battery, depends on your usage and charging method, theymaybe fully charged but sometimes wont give you enough power to drive

Nikon coolpix 2100 camera won't stay on

I've been having problems with the batteries and the camera refusing to start even with fresh batteries. I bought loads of new rechargable batteries and have finally found some that work. Duracell rechargables. Theyr'e brilliant and keep their charge for ages despite continuous use of the camera! Last summer I managed to take 975 photos before the batteries finally decided to give up!

I just bought new rechargeable batteries, and got only a few shots. Why so little usage from new batteries? Is something wrong?

Nothing is wrong with the camera or the batteries. Rechargeable batteries of all kinds will self-discharge over time. Charge them fully (if they are NiMH completely charge and discharge them a few times), and you should see full battery capacity.
