Bought a 2nd hand LG Flatron monitor It opens on Windows but nothing else works. Do I need a driver? Its a Flatron 1718S and I can't get a driver on line on my other computer with the LG monitor. Im using my laptop to send this message. Any Ideas? Im not very technical. I rebooted but nothing happened.

LG Flatron L1515S doesn't need a driver to be installed on Windows Computer or any other systems. If you have problem with it, then it should be your graphics driver that you would need to install.
Similarly W1943TB-PF doesn't need driver. (I am not sure which one among the two LG Flatrons you have since your question is tagged under the LG Flatron L1515S while your problem refers to LG Flatron W1943TB.

You didn't specify which OS you use. So, the following is a link to a compressed package of basic Windows driver files for your monitor directly from LG:http://tinyurl.com/LGFlatron-e2041.


Once you download the "zip" package, navigate to it using Windows Explorer, right-click the package, and "extract all".

Your monitor supports a maximum resolution of 1280 x 1024. If windows fails to give you the option of changing to this resolution and those below it then please follow these suggestions:

Update your video card drivers, if you don't know the manufacturer of your video card try windows update.

Install the latest drivers for your monitor as well.

I would just leave it since it is supported by win7 driver. If it works, leave it.

scaillos, Try YOUTUBE for video clips of "lcd monitor disassembly" and or "lcd monitor repair". Don't use any sharp edged cutting tools like kitchen knives or you will incur additional monitor repair costs that will be paid to local hospital "ER" !!! Might find interesting stuff at www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm and www.badcaps.net , www.lcdparts.net , www.ccfldirect.com Start at lower edge of monitor and look for small slot to inset something to pry with. I assume the fuse is blown in your system.. so remove it and take it with you to a local hardware store or electrical supply store and get the same one.. There is a reason that fuse failed thou so if you install a new one and it fails again.. you have a problem with your flatron...

go to http://www.Lg.com support drivers you need to check for you model make serial and windows tipe if you can not get it from there you can go to http://www.driversguide.com fill out the registration and go to the LG monitor and look for your model serial and windows system

some games need high resolution. Monitor resolution not supporting for this game.
