STANDBY LIGHT TURN ON

I have a slim DLP TV, standby light, timer light, and lamp light turn on and continue to blink but tv won't turn on.

  • William Norred Jun 15, 2008

I too have this problem, but mine still has the original bulb (about 1 year old). Grey, transparent bar extends vertically down extreme left side of screen, and is about 2 inches wide. Only visible when TV is in 16:9 mode with HD channels.

Samsung HL-T6756 DLP TV Standby/temp light flashing and tv won't come on. I have replaced the lamp and the fan is working. Any suggestions?

Remove lamp and inspect the color wheel to see if missing pieces or shattered---it will also just before failing give a high pitched or fan like sound and if running too slow or not at all instant shutdown happens.

Its also possible if you bought a GENERIC bulb--and used original cartridge the new lamp is bad.

It is the lamp but try to check the filament of the lamp if defective because if the color wheel is defective you will hear a whirring noise. Try to check the lamp if defective replace it and if you replace the lamp you should reset the lamp hour meter, feel free to send feed back good day and best regards.

Hello I have a Samsung TV Model# HL50A650C1FXZA I have 3 lights blinking 2 green and 1 red light what is the problem

Hello, I try to help. But your questions not spesific.
Below are conditions lamp indicators that appear blinking and solutions:

1. If Timer and Lamp blinking --> Auto timer on/off was been set, picture will appear ~ 25 second.
2. If Timer and Standby/Temp blinking --> A cooling fan inside the set is not operating properly.
3. If Lamp and Standby/Temp blinking --> The lamp cover on the rear of the set is not installed properly.

I hope that solve your problem.
Thanks.

Tv keeps shutting itself off. the power button will then begin flashing in green lighting the words"timer and lamp' and in red letters the word "standby". i can press the power button to turn the tv back...

The first thing to try is a new lamp. There should be an orange or red tag on the left side of your set that has the lamp number on it. The number will look something likr BP96-01434A. It probably won't be this exact number but will have that sort of format. Google "DLP lamp" and you'll find numerous sites that sell lamps. Shop around for the best price.

First check the color to see if its spinning or not. Replace it if neccessary. If that's ok, replace lamp and ballast.

Check your color wheel. There is a DIY guide for replacing the color wheel. Mine did the same thing yours is and my color wheel was all busted up. Unfortunately after replacing the color wheel my set continues to do the same thing, but this could mean I need to replace the ballast as well.
