Not all remote are compatible with all our receivers. Depending on the receiver and remote model numbers, if they are compatible you can readdress the remote to the receiver. I have provided a link for readdressing the remote to the receiver. I hope this helps.

Pressed the System wizard button on remote the Sat button lit up for a minute or so then the remote stopped working ! Changed batteries still not working ! reset the box still not working What do I do ??

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Service here. It sounds like your remote may need to be readdressed to your DISH receiver. I will list here for you the instructions for addressing your remote to your receiver box. If you are using the TV2 remote make sure you take it to the TV1 location to perform the trouble shooting steps. If you are using TV1 remote stay at the receiver box location. I hope you find these instructions useful and if you have any further questions or concerns feel free to post back here or email me directly at [email protected].

Instructions for addressing remote to DISH receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or by pressing the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the receiver box.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
  3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the white square.
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

My IR Remote 103602 is not working. I recently bought a universal remote controller. What code should I input in order to control the Dish Network receiver? (just like controlling a TV or VCR). Thanks.

Hey there, Cheri Torres with DISH Network Customer Servicehere. I came across your post recently and wanted to see if I could help. Weunfortunately do not have any codes in order to get your TV remote to controlthe DISH Network receiver. If your DISH Network remote is no longer functioningproperly we do have a few different trouble shooting steps that you can try inorder to get the remote working again. You will want to first replace thebatteries in the remote just to make sure that is not the issue. If you havealready replaced the batteries and the remote is still not working you willwant to press the SAT mode button to make sure that it is still lighting upred. If the SAT mode light is still lighting up you are probably going to needreaddress the remote to the receiver but if it is no longer lighting up you mayneed a replacement remote. I will list here for you the instruction foraddressing your remote to your receiver box. In the case that the remote iseither not working after all trouble shooting or the mode lights are no longerlighting up please email me at [email protected] with your accountinfo so that I can get a replacement remote sent to you. I hope you find thisinformation useful and if you have any other questions or concerns feel free toemail me anytime. :)
Steps for readdressing the remote to the receiver
  1. Go to System Info screen. You can do this by either pressing the system info button on the front of the receiver box or you can press the power button once then the channel up button once on the front of the DISH receiver box.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you will see either remote address or primary remote address(TV1) and secondary remote address(TV2)
  3. Hold down the SAT button on the remote until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.Change the number to something different then what is already listed in the little white square.
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record. Note: If successful the number selected in step 4 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

I am trying to program my DishTV universal remote to control my Apex DT250A digital tv converter and i cannot find a code that will work. Do you know the correct code to enter into my DishTV remote. Thanks...

Hello this is Nick Franta from DISH. There are a couple of codes you can try. The following link will provide the available codes we have. You would need to hold the SAT button down until the top 4 buttons light up, enter the code, then #. The SAT button should flash 3 times when the code is successful.

I need to reprogram my dishnetwork remote control

Hello, this is Cheri Torres with DISH Network customer service. I came across your issue and wanted to see if i could help you resolve this. If you remote is not controlling your receiver functions such as changing DISH channels, bringing up the program guide, and bringing up your DISH menus you will need to get your remote readdressed to your receiver. There are a few different steps for addressing your DISH Network remote to your receiver box and I will list them here for you. I hope you find these instructions useful in resolving this issue.:) If you have any further questions or concerns feel free to post back here or you can email me at [email protected].

Steps for addressing your remote to your DISH Network receiver box.

  1. Go to System Info scree. In order to get into your system info screen you can either press the system info button on the front of the DISH receiver box, or you can press the power button once and then the up arrow button once on the front of the receiver box. If both of these options are not working you can also open the little door on the left side of your DISH box and pull out your smart card. You do no need to reinsert your smart card until you have addressed your remote completely.
  2. Once you are in the system info screen you should see primary remote address (TV1) and secondary remote address (TV2).
  3. Hold down the SAT button until all mode lights light up.
  4. Enter a number between 1 and 15 using the numeric keypad on the remote.(Make sure to change the remote address to a different number then what is listed in the white box).
  5. Press the pound (#) button
  6. Once the SAT button blinks three times, press record three times. Note: If successful the number selected in step 3 will appear in the System Info screen under Remote Address.

My remote wont set to sat. Its not the batteries because it still controls the TV, But when i click on the sat button on the top, it does not work.

Hello there my name is Kimberly Escobar with DISH Network. Just ran across your post and wanted to help you by providing information that may help with the issue you are having. If your remote control is not setting to SAT mode we may need to readdress the remote to the receiver. You can do this by entering the System info screen at the T.V were the receiver is located, towards the bottom you will see something that says primary remote address next to that you will have a white box with a number in it. To address the remote you need to press and hold the SAT button until all the other button light up in red then enter a number between 1-15 (different from the one already inside the white box) followed by the pound key (#) and record 3 times. The number inside the white box should change to the number you chose after this try your remote. you can find more information in our website just follow this link and it should provide you with more information on how to troubleshoot your remote control http://www.dishnetwork.com/SupportSection/remote-control If you have any additional questions or concerns please feel free to contact us directly at 1800-333-DISH thank you and hope this helps.

After programming my NEW Harmony One Logitech remote I can't get it to change channels on the Dish HDTV DVR along with a bunch of other problems.

To control a Dish Network PVR/Satellite, it needs to be set to respond to the default Remote Address (1).

To reset your Dish Network PVR/Satellite to the default Remote Address:

1. Press SYSTEM INFO on the receiver's front panel. The System Information screen displays on the nearby TV and shows the Remote Address.
2. Using the original Dish Network remote, press and hold SAT on your remote control for about three seconds, until all of the mode buttons light up, and then release SAT.
3. Using the NUMBER PAD, press the 1 button
4. Press POUND (#). If you entered the address correctly, SAT will flash three times.
5. Press RECORD. Make sure the Remote Address you see on the System Information screen is 1.
6. Press the SELECT button on the front panel to close the System Information screen.
7. Your Harmony remote should now control your Dish Network PVR/Satellite box

NOTE: Dish Network PVR/Satellite receivers sometimes have two tuners, allowing them to be used in more than one room on different TVs. Harmony remotes can only control a Dish Network receiver's main tuner while still in the same room with direct line of sight to the device.

What other issues are you having with the remote?

TV 2 remote, have to use the TV remote instead of Dish remote for the volume control

You will need to program your dish remote to your tv, find the 3 digit code for your tv and on your dish remote press the TV button till all lights light up at the top of the rem, then enter the 3 digit tv code and then press pound. this will now programm that rem to your tv. be sure to press the SAT button to put back into SAT mode to operate your Dish programming.

Cannot control Vip222 with sling classic

I have read elsewhere that Slingboxes required the Dish Network receivers to be set to Primary Remote Address 1.

To try a fix:

Using the Dish Network Remote Control -
1. Press menu 2 times to get to system info page
2. In the system info page the Primary Remote Address is in a white box (bubble) followed by a Green TV (1)symbol that says IR and indicates the channel to which remote control 1 is configured.

If the Primary Remote Address of your Dish VIP722 Remote control 1 is not set to channel 1, here is how to change it:

1. While displaying the system info page, press and hold the SAT button on your dish network remote until all other modes are flashing, about 3 seconds.
2. then press the '1' button on the numeric pad of your dish remote
3. then press the '#' button on the numeric pad of the dish remote
4. then press the 'record' button (red dot button - stores setting)
5. At this point you should see a number 1 in front of the primary remote address on the dish system info page

Ensure you enter the corresponding IR code into your slingbox remote control per the instructions in the Slingbox documentation.
