Check to see if you have the chain oriented correctly - it is east to put them on backward without realizing it. Th3e teeth should point forward, with the anti - kickback lug in front of the tooth. Let me know if this helps!!

New 18" Poulan Pro 42 cc saw, mixed up new gas

Don't use stabil. Use a modern synthetic saw oil (50:1 fuel to oil ratio) available at home centers, hardware stores, and saw dealers. Mix the oil and fuel in it's own container and be sure to shake the container thoroughly just before filling the tank each time to prevent oil starvation. If it becomes apparent that the carburetor adjustments are wrong, you will need to see your dealer for adjustment. Good luck!

Chain saw starts fine, idles fine, and powers up fine when not cutting a long how when starting to cut a log it bogs down and dies. Does anyone know how to fix this problem or what’s wrong with the chain...

Two things that can cause this problem. 1. Your carburetor is not set properly and is not letting the engine get enough fuel under a load. 2. Your chain is binding when you put the chain bar down on the log. Make sure your front chain sproket is turning free and is not too sloppy.

Starts ok when cold. acts like it's out of fuel when hot.

Clean or change the sparkplug. Also make sure you have fresh gas and the proper fuel mix.
