My fiance's Compaq V2000 is sick. About 3 months ago, I switched to a new battery. It charged/discharged just fine. Than two days ago, the laptop would not power on unless plugged into the AC unit. The battery status in the system tray states that it is charging with a level of 55%.
The battery charge light on the front of the laptop is lit, so I image it is getting power. I took the battery to a friend's house and it worked on his similar laptop so I am pretty confident it is not the battery (unless this was a fluke).
Am I correct in thinking its the charging component on the MoBo?

Same problem, Got new battery with some charge in it already but V2000 sees the batery but won't charge it. If I take out the battery with PC running it says charging but still does not. Could it be the charger. What Amps are required by this unit? Does anyone know, it's not written on the bottom of the laptop like most are!
