Hey Windows 7 stated, first time here in days, nobody ever tells OS.
you are a winner for savvy award 1000
old relic COMPAQ LT.

your LT now has 2 mice, and if you run 2 mice what happens
they try to get in a fight.
we must shut off the mouse pad first.
I guess this mouse is a MS mouse, no mouse name stated.

I shut off the mouse pad in device manager.
look for the USB mouse not, is this unstated mouse wireless, if yes a new battery is now needed. and matching usb dongle.
now plug in the mouse. PC goes DING donng.,
and it loads a driver
be in the internet to W7 can find the driver.
if still dead, go to device manager,
see that mouse there under. mice and other pointing devices
mine shows, HID mouse here.
if missing , plug the mouse into all USB ports 1 by one and listen for the DINGDONGg (means new USB device discovered)
if still fails buy a new mouse, gee barrow one for a day.
if that mouse works , trash the dead one.

you can not have 2 mice at same time or you get into trouble.
the old mouse pad , we had to use disable in device manager to kill it.
on the new HP we have newer driver and it has this.
" tab, automatically disable pad mouse with usb mouse active"
but old ones dont have this
I too hate pads. when the thumb hits the pad, I want to kill that pad fast.
one ebay a 5 pack of mice is $14
a 5 year supply, all mine fail in 1year, the wires snap near mouse inside, easy;

SOURCE: usb device not recognize

You mentioned that you uninstalled the unknown device from the Device manager. If you uninstall it then connected your usb flash drive you will see an error again on your device manager. This means that the driver for your usb port is not properly installed.

To install it, visit dell website, look for the model of your machine and locate the driver, download it then install from your machine.

SOURCE: error code 19 - Device MANAGER - USB devices

What OS are you running? XP, Vista, 7, etc? In Control Panel where you see the yellow exclamation mark, right click and select Update Driver. When it asks where to find the driver, tell it to search the internet.
If it does not update, then go to the Samsung website to locate the drivers for your computer and OS.

SOURCE: infrared usb devices such as

Hi.

If you get code 10 (device not recognized), then the problem is either USB, device drivers or hardware. The code 43 means that the device cannot be installed, and it is a resultant of code 10.

Try the following:

Troubleshooting drivers problems.

Ensure you have installed device drivers before connecting the devices.
Check in device manager and see if the installed device is marked with a yellow circle.
Ensure that you granted system access when asked during driver installation.

Troubleshooting USB problems.

Do a power reset. Turn off the laptop. Disconnect power adapter and remove main laptop battery. Reassemble and restart after five minutes or so. This may fix some USB troubles given by electrostatic charges in hardware.
Go to device manager. Remove, and then allow reinstall of the laptop's USB in the device list.
Do a definitive test by starting Windows from optical disk, then try installing the USB devices in the new OS. You will still need to install the drivers if required. The installation done on the system started from CD will not use or affect the system files in C drive . See Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD

If problem does not occurr using Bart PE, then the problem is the system. In that case do a Windows upgrade setup. This kind of installation preserves files and settings.

If all that does not work, and the problem occurs using a bootable disk, then the problem is hardware. In that case it is usually RAM or main board. Test using different RAM.

Regards.

Ginko.

How do i restat my laptop 610 compaq it has been stacked on touchpad?

restat?
stacked?
i have no idea these words? elaborate please .
tell what you do right and it does, wrong (a story)

my wild guess is the touch pad is failing
and no usb mouse attached,(hand held mouse)
that?
what OS is this , XP?

The mouse pad can be bad.
so can the mouse pad driver be corrupted , missing or wrong one installed.

start by telling the helper what OS,
click the (CP) control panel, click system'
the OS you run is presented to you there, in words.
windows what.
then CP (again, then click device manager)
under "Mice and other pointing devices."
see the mouse pad there, the driver there must not be
missing
or red or yellow marks ore UNKNOWN.

there are more tests and actions, but I stop here,
or get it repaired in a PC repair shop. (captain obvious sorry)

Built in mouse has not worked properly from day 1. Now my external mouse won't work either. I tried a different external moue, but it doesn't work either.

Unplug everything except the power cord, including the following:

Speakers
Printers
Scanners
USB devices
Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)
USB flash drive or other external storage devices
External Monitor
External Keyboard
External Mouse
If your computer is attached to a docking station, undock it.

Make sure the touchpad or your finger has no dirt, grease, liquids or food on it (the touchpad has to make a good contact with your finger to work correctly).

Turn the computer back on and retest the touchpad.

When the touchpad still does not work correctly proceed to step 5.

When the touchpad does work correctly, attach one external device at a time and test the touchpad to see which one may have caused the issue.

Make sure the latest driver for the touchpad is installed (you may need to use a external USB or Bluetooth mouse), for more information refer to:
