I have a Sony KDL-40EX700 LED HDTV and just hooked up a Sony BDV-E770W home theater system to it. When I am watching TV from the antenna there is a delay between the video and the sound. The video comes first, and then the sound (the lips don't sync up). It's a small delay, ~25ms, but still noticeable. I have tried the ARC system as well as an optical cable and both do have the same problem. The home theater system does not do this when I am watching a blu-ray or using a service that it provides. I cannot adjust the A/V sync because it only adds time between the time the video appears and the audio occurs and does not subtract it.

Got your post, I will work with the model #s. Get back with you soon. Also a tip for now: HDMI carries true digital video and audio so you may not need the optic cables.

I ha e a sony BDV-E770W Blu-ray disc home theater system and when you press the pwr on button it comes on and dispray says please wait flashes and doesn't do anything else. No sound, no menu show.

Sounds like corrupted firmware. Contact the authorized service center for Sony. or, visit this site, sony e-support. This kind of fault/s are not easly repairable by a user.

Red light flashing 4 times what is the problem

These blinks [flashes] are fault indication (Error Codes). From the number of blinks occur at one time switch ON, you can get an idea about the faulty circuit section inside it. This will make repair easy. These are called blinking codes. Make sure about the exact number of blinking of the standby/power LED, by switching On & OFF the set, for at least two times. Count it carefully. If you wish to get some details, check the site linked here. It has details about blinking codes, and fault locating procedure, to many popular brand TVs and other devices. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

Why doesn't the ARC TV sound work through the HDMI cable? Is it because the KDL-52XBR7 only has the Bravia Sync and no ARC support?

How can I fix the echo between my TV speakers and my dvd/blu ray player home theater speakers when watching a movie. Also, in the settings menu on the BDV E370 system do I have to select speakers only...

Easy, disable the TV speakers or turn its volume down.

http://static.highspeedbackbone.net/pdf/Sony%20BDV-E370%20Manaual.pdf

Page 36 tells you how to sync the sound to the picture but you really shouldn't have the TV speakers competing (in stereo) with the Sony. (Page 56).

A) The TV speakers are probably inferior to teh Sony's
B) When you balanced the speakers during setup there was no 'with-the-TV-speakers-on' option. The image up front would suffer by adding an unaccounted for sound source.

Sony BDV-370 DVD/5.1 theater hooked to Sony Bravia TV and cable box. No sound comes from rear or center speakers with HD cable.

    Three things can cause this:
    1) not all HD is recorded in surround sound. You can very well watch an HD program that just has Left/Right stereo audio. Tombstone on bluray is even only in Dolby 2.0
    2) wrong connection is used. If you only use red/white analog stereo cables you will only get sound out of the left/right mains.
    3) setting on the cable box is set to stereo and not surround. Changing this varies by cable box manufacturer.
