Brother HL-2030 paper jam

Dear,

We had a paper jam in our Brother HL-2030 printer and the paper was completely wrapped around the red roll in the back of the printer. After we removed the paper the red light for paper, keeps blinking.

The user manual mentions that this indicates an open cover (not the case) or the drum needs to be cleaned. What I tried already as well and didn't help either.

What else can I try that could solve my problem?

Brgrds,
Kris

1. Face the back of the printer. You may have to disconnect the cables. Just note their position for later reconnection. Open the rear cover.
2. Lower the forkish cover that is further in the back of the printer. It has a sticker on its left side.
3. There is a "finger" in the middle of the forkish cover that may not be in position. Note that there is on the mid-right side of it a tab, that has to be positioned to go down into the hole.
4. Close both covers and reconnect the wires if necessary.
5. It should now be working BS"D!!!

In my case the problem occured after there was a paper jam. After removing the jammed paper the red light of the paper kept blinking and turned on after a restart.
The solution was quite simple. On the drum (take it out), there is a small blue clip with an inprinted arrow on it. Just move this back and forward a couple of times across the drum and reinstall the drum and everything worked again (for me at least).

HL-2030 Continuous Paper Light Flashing.

i looked at the service manuals, there is not one for the hl-2030, however for the hl-2040 is indicates that the front cover or back cover door is open, check the back door and see if the sensor is moving freely.

Paper wrapped around the red roller

lift the cover remove all the cartridges and the drum unit slowly and carefully and slightly pull the upper side of the paper not the lowerside and if it is rolled completely you have to open the heater unit to remove if you donot have any technical knowledge do not try because the red roll you are taking is a costly thing, call the service technician and get it repaired that would be more cheaper.

Brother hl 2030

Hi here is a link to the brother site with a breakdown of the led status lights.

http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/eu/gb/en/faq/faq/000000/000100/000070/faq000170_005.html?reg=eu&c=gb&lang=en&prod=hl2030_all&Cat=6

There are quite a few reasons as to why the paper light is coming on.

the obvious ones are a paper jam, low paper or no paper or its expecting paper to be put into the manual feed on the front of the printer.

but there are a few less than obvious reasons as well according to brothers site.

hope this helps.

Paper jam with Brother HL-2030 laser printer

Being a retired electronics technician, I located and downloaded a copy of the service manual. Then proceeded to hunt for the reason why the Paper LED was staying on. I put the printer into the Production diagnoses mode, then by process of alimination opened and closed each panel and cheack each sensor switch one at a time. At which time it was apparent the problem was the rear door sensor. So I started to disassemble the printer getting instructions from the Service manaul, as most electronic equipement there is a sequence process to accompliah this. and once I found that the method of the rear door sensor operated I found the bracket was not in the right position. I put the sensor bar back into it's proper position and put the printer back to normal opperateing mode, I found my problem was solved. So I reassembled the unit and plugged it back into the compter ran a couple of test sheets and cleaned and aligned the printer head(s) made a few adjustment and everything was back to normal.
I must say that locating the Service Manual was a feat, but worth every cent I paid for it which was $9 USD. Personally i think all service manuals should be available for all Brother products for a fee, then a large number of problems can be fixed by the owners without much bother to Brother.
I ahve two of these printers and would still purchase a Brother colour printers, my next purchase is going to be a Brother color laser printer. Out of all the printers i've used on my computers I like the brother the best.

Paper JAm

There are three places to clear the jam: 1. Paper tray (remove it and feel inside, clear paper. 2.Open the front (above the manual feed slot) inside is the drum - remove that and the toner cartridge, if necessary. 3. On the back - open the rear chute. You should be able to remove the paper in one of those areas. See the Brother web site for complete pictures ans instructions. http://welcome.solutions.brother.com/BSC/public/us/us/en/faq/faq/000000/000000/000026/faq000026_006.html?reg=us&c=us&lang=en&prod=hl2040_all&Cat=4
