Hi There,

These are reset instructions designed to clear most of hp errors starting with 0xc...It works on different hp models.. it could work on you too.

Semi reset
1. While your printer is on.. unplug to power cable from the printer.
2. Press and hold the "OK" and "HELP" buttons while you plug the power cable at the back of the printer. Try these steps to reset your printer to default setting.

Full reset
1. Press & hold " * " key...(asterisk sign)
2. While holding the " * ", press "#" key and then release both keys..."Enter Special Key Combo" will be displayed...
3. Press "1", "2" and "3" to display Support...
4 Press ">" right arrow button and release when System Config Menu appear....then click OK
5. Press arrow key to display Hardware Failure Status...click OK....
6. When Hardware Failure Status:Clear appeared, press "OK" to clear...
7. Press "OK" again to display "Hardware Failure Status Cleared. Press Cancel To Continue".....
8. Press "CANCEL" as many times to display "Welcome To Photosmart Express" or "Ink System Failure".....
9. The last part is to turn off the printer and unplug at the back...wait for 30 sec, then plug and turn on the printer...if asked, press "OK" to continue and allow the "One Time Ink Initialization" to proceed..After this try to print...

To solve the error code
Oxc18a0401,Follow the given steps


  • Reset the printer without turning off the printer, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the printer
  • Remove the cartridges from the printer
  • Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges' message to display on the control panel
  • Disconnect the power from the back of the printer
  • Now wait 60 seconds
  • Now reconnect the power If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button
  • Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the printer.
  • If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page.Print it
  • Reconnect the USB cable to the port of the printer & then try printing again
Error will automatically remove.

hi

go to this site for error explanation. although the exact error is not listed, i do believe that cleanin the ink-jets is vitally important to resolve this problem.

HP7180 ERROR OXC18A0401 INK SYSTEM HAS FAILED UNABLE TO COPY RECEIVED FAXES OR PRINT CAN YOU HELP ME? RO

Without turning off the printer, disconnect the USB cable at the back of it.

Remove the cartridges and wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.

Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer then wait 60 seconds and reconnect the power cord.

If the printer does not automatically turn on, press the Power button.

Reinsert the cartridges, and then close the cartridge door.

If it prompt you to print a calibration page, do so.

Reconnect the USB cable at the back of the printer, and then try printing again.

If the same error message appears on the front panel service your printer.

I was printing 10 photos and than got the Oxc18a0401 printer error. I have removed and replaced all cartriges, re-installed the printer priver, re-booted the computer, checked for paper jams and still get...

Oxc18a0401 ink system has failed

Hello,

The "Ink system failure" error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes. The happens if you allow the ink o fully run out of the cartridge and the printer sucks up air or you use a poorly filled ink cartridge with air bubbles. To clear the error you will need to perform a feed tube purge. This procedure takes about 10 minutes to complete. A ink system failure has occured oxc18a0401 i have cleaned the ink tips but no joy please help ta

Hello,

The 'ink system failure' error is caused by air in the ink feed tubes inside the printer. This problem is caused by either letting your ink run totally out in one or more cartridges or using poorly refilled cartridges. You will need to run a purge routine to flush the ink tubes of the air and clear the error message. We have an article posted on our web site at: http://www.ccl-la.com/blog/index.php/category/printer-repair/hp-printer-repair/ that will walk you thru running the purge routine. It takes about 10 minutes to do but then your printer should be good as new.

Reset the product:
1. Without turning off the product, disconnect the USB cable from the rear of the product.
2. Remove the cartridges from the product.
3. Wait for the 'Insert Cartridges ' message to display on the control panel.
4. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the product.
5. Wait 60 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord. If the product does not automatically turn on, press the Power button ( ).
7. Reinsert the cartridges, and then close any open doors on the product.
8. If you receive a prompt to print a calibration page, do so.
9. Reconnect the USB cable to the rear of the product, and then try printing again.
