Hello. I need help installing an Eclipse sound system in my Dodge Ram 1500 Quad cab. I went from a Kenwood HU with db Drive 6.5's and 5x7's to the Eclipse CD3200 HU and noticed an immediate improvement in sound quality and volume. Then I added two SC8365 3-way component 6.5" speakers for the rear doors and two SC6900 2-way component 6x9 speakers for the front doors(each set has a passive crossover), and an Eclipse EA4200 amp, 4x60 RMS. The sound quality and the volume are worse (I ear tested by swapping the db Drives with the amp in, and they sounded better and louder than the Eclipse speakers. The CD3200 has the pre-amps labeled as "Front/High", "Rear/Mid" and "Sub/Non-Fade" (I do have subs, but that is another discussion. My point is that one set of pre-amps needs to go to the subs, rather than the woofers in the doors). I originally ran the Mid to the 6x9's in the front doors and High to the 6.5's in the rear doors simply because of the speakers' specs. One problem with that is the Bluetooth phone feature plays the sound through the Front pre-amp, therefore through my back speakers. I swapped them back so now I have front to front and rear to rear. My questions are: How can I run a full signal to all of the speakers to utilize their crossovers rather than the HU crossover and PEQ? Why are they less loud and sound worse after I put in an amp and better speakers? (I have to turn up the volume to about 80% to make it loud, and then the amp clips, even though it is not hot). Thanks for your help!

there isn't a separate sub pre amp, there are three sets - front/high, rear/mid and sub/non-fade.

I need to know how to get highs to both tweeters and mid or lows to the woofers in the back doors (3 way component) and highs to the tweeters and mid or lows to the woofers in the front doors (two way component). Or, how to get full range to all speakers to utilize the passive crossovers. It's all Eclipse, so i figure they designed the speakers to work with the head unit, and being good quality i doubt they would limit the options on the pre amps.

OK, firstly we need to break this down, with such a complicated question as this one......from the beginning........When you added the 2 6x9 and a n amp, how do you have this wired up with the original set up of 6.5's and 5x7's.........were they added or did you fit them in place of these ones...????

So you wanna run the subs off of the rear pre amp output rather than just the sub out correct? just get a splitter and run both the rear speakers and sub off of rear channel and front off of front channel. or run all four off of front and subs off rear output. this should give you the sound you want

How to lower the horn sound for the alarm

General advice:Commun alarm loud speakers don't have a volume control as it is meant to be loud (db by low think about 110,may be wrong...).Good practice:track the speaker, reorientation may help lower the noise,if not try to put a mask on it (textil...)Cheers.If u find out a volume adjust form (knob, pin)let the people know.Note:good electronist hobby may install adjust on wires if speaker aloud it.

Hi! Try not to install the amplifier first. Proceed on standard wiring set up without the amplifier for you to trace if the amplifier is faulty which can cause the other speakers not to work. Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa!
