The KitchenAid KSM 90 WW stopped working. The motor runs normally, at least it seems to. However, mixing mechanism does not turn and the attachment mechanism does not turn. And I do not know how to get into it to see if a gear slipped off or something. I need a manual or schematic with a explosion view.

You will find that the fuse gear has failed, it's either been overloaded or it's just worn out from use or maybe the lubricating grease has gone old and needs changing. That will be change the failed gear and replace the grease.

SOURCE: bread dough hook slips when mixing

This is not a solution but I think you have a serious problem you might have sheared some gear teeth whent the mixer jammed and it only manifests itself under a heavy load, I would take it to a repair guy, those mixers are expensive and it would be worth it.

SOURCE: seating the brushes on the Kitchenaid ksm90 mixer

You don't need to seat the brushes. Remove the brush caps and pull the brushes out by their springs, being VERY careful to note the position of them since they only go back in one way. Measure the free length of the spring before pulling it out. It is critical that you write down the length sticking out with very slight pressure on it so that it is seated against the armature when you measure.

Clean the curved surface of the carbon brushes with a sharp knife being careful not to scratch the curved surface. If you have them installed wrong they will not go all the way in and will not contact the armature and it will not run. Measure the length, as done above, of the spring to make sure it is in correctly!! If it is not in correctly the spring will stick out 1/4 inch longer than it should.

Kitchenaid mixer blade holder will not turn

I answered this for you in the blender dept, it will almost certainly be the fuse gear and that's machine cases apart to look in the gearbox.
Fuse gear part number is
4162897 Worm Gear
If you want to make the repair a little faster then the fuse gear already mounted in the bracket is another option
240309?2 Worm Gear Bracket And Gear
I call it a fuse gear, they call it a worm gear.

My Kitchenaid mdl: KSM 155gbca is making a loud bumping noise with or without an attachment.

It is more than likely in the planetary or the fuse gear inside the gear box. Try it once you have the planetary off before you go looking inside the gear box. Easiest is planetary problem but far far more likely is the fuse gear.

KitchenAid stops working when anything other than liquid is in the bowl..

There is a non metal gear inside the motor head that is stripped and no longer engaging the worm drive. What happens when you try to assist the turning process (try it only on stir speed, sloooowwwww) if it starts to turn and then stops again then it is the gear I spoke of. It will require tearing down the machine, cleaning all old grease, to insure that you have no ground up parts in the grease, then replace the grease gasket and gear. Hope this helps

Kitchenaid Professional HP mixer, motor stopped while making dough. I let everything cool down and with no attachments it will not turn on. As soon as you turn it on the motor gets hot but no noise or...

Open the Transmission Housing and remove the two screws holding
the Motor. Lift it off the gears and test run it by itself. The motor
should run normally at different speeds. If it does, then you can move on
to the gears. Manually turn the Worm Gear and make sure nothing got jammed.
The Bevel Gear should turn smoothly.

I have disassembled my K5SS Kitchen Aid mixe with all gears removed in order to solve its electrical problem. When I plug in the motor and move the speed lever, there is no movement or sound of the motor...

Unless it sits at the back of the motor behind the vent cover. I couldn't find one anywhere on ours either. Check the motor brushes for broken or badly worn carbons, or collapsed springs. It could be a broken wire at the plug end or something wrong with the speed switch. Some strategic voltmeter sleuthing is required. Try turning the motor shaft while the power is on. It may have a dead commutator segment.

Kitchenaid artisan mixer does not turn the blade at low speeds

If it is the worm gear then the planetary will stop turning when there is a load on the paddle but the motor will continue to run at the speed you set it at. I'd be checking the carbon brushes, checking that the field assembly has not loosened up a bit and then I would see if the speed control plate adjustment screws are loose. I'd then reset the speed and see if it stays as it should be.

Kitchenaid mixer stopped

Hi Myrna. You may have overloaded the mixer. Don't try to use it, as you may do further damage. If you're hearing the motor turn, then it's OK. There is internal damage in the transmission area. Call Kitchenaid to find the nearest "authorised" repair place. Kitchenaid no longer has a parts catalog for the KSM 90, so parts may be hard to find. Call the "authorised place and ask if they have parts for your unit. Ask them if they can get parts for your model. If they say no to either question, call other small appliance repair places locally and ask the same questions. There may be spare parts around. The fact that Kitchenaid no longer has a parts catalog means that they consider it obsolete.

If you find that It cannot be repaired. I suggest you look at other brands to replace it, as Kitchenaid is now owned by Whirlpool Corp. and the quality of the Kitchenaid line is not what it once was when they were built by Hobart.

Goto www.consumeraffairs.com and review the different mixer's pros and cons. Good luck! ricardok45

KitchenAid Artisan 10 speed 325Watt Mixer

Hi, The KitchenAid mixers are usually quite easy to work on if you are competent at DIY. It sounds like a gearbox fault. Gearbox parts are easy obtained for most of the models and are easy to repair.

This is a service manual for a lot of the KitchenAid mixers. Might give you an idea on how difficult it is to work on before taking the plunge.

Hope this helps

Attachments won't turn

most likely a stripped worm gear if the motor still runs but the attachments/planetary gear won't turn.
Did this happen when mixing a big batch of dough or when something fell in the bowl that shouldn't have?
