Right click the background of the monitor, click personalize and see if you have the screen saver on. If you have remove it. Also check the power setting in same screen which would list some option like hibernate, sleep or do nothing. Thanks.

Hello, my hpw2007 screen has horizantal bands that cycle from the bottom to the top in a loop. The screen is older, and has been dropped lightly twice. Can it be fixed or these effects be eased somehow.

Yes, FIRST thing is REFRESH RATE in display driver advanced settings, SECOND one is incorrect driver using, check the drivers Graphic card (Display Adapter) and Monitor And last one is a BROKEN WIRE in monitor data cable. Good Luck.

Whyisscreen jumpy and jerky

mcdevito75 here, You can try, shut down your computer useing START SHUT OFF COMPUTER, when computer is shut down double check all connections at the computer and Monitor, also check wall socket. Now! restart your computer, check the controls on the monitor, if you have a button auto press it, this will automatically set your monitor. If all this fails, contact Dell, you may have a faukty monitor. Computer does not control monitor screen except for brightness and volume, problem most likely with the monitor itself.

Automatic shut off?

Usually you set this by going into the power saving settings in the screen saver settings.

You can set the monitor to shut down pretty much when you want it to from this settings screen.

Good Luck,

1.Right click on desktop
2.Select properties.
3.Select "ScreenSaver".
4.Select "Power" under Monitor power option.
5.There select "never" from Turn off monitor (drop down menu).

Now your monitor will not turn off automatically.

Resolution issue?

Try using the Toshiba graphics control settings instead of Windows graphics control settings to adjust the resolution.

If a cd came with the HP monitor check it for a help file and possibly drivers that optomize its settings.

Monitor will not turn on including power switch

I suspect the power supply for the monitor. Try a power supply from a working monitor. If you have a used computer store nearby, take your power supply to them and try it on another monitor.

There is no need to turn off a monitor using its power switch. Monitors automatically go into standby mode when they are not receiving a signal. In standby mode they use less than one cent of electricity per day. If saving electricity is your goal, raise the temperature in your home by a degree and run the air conditioning less.
