Don't bother. Instead just go out and buy a Universal remote control that can control almost any device or devices. It comes with complete instructions to have each device "tell" the remote the code and the remote will then store each for each device. You can purchase a Universal control at your large drug stores or electronic stores.

u should be able to

turn the dvr on
press and hold the setup until the light stays on (remote)
hit the dvr botton on the remote the light should blind once
hold the remote towards the dvr keep hitting the on and off button on the remote until the dvr turns off can take up to 300 times once the dvr turns off press the select button and that should fixya up

If your home entertainment device does not respond to the remote control after trying all of the codes listed for your brand, or if your brand is not listed at all, try searching for your code.
For example, after trying all of the codes for your TV, you still cannot get the remote control to operate your TV, then:
1. Turn on your TV.
2. On the remote control, press TVTV once. Then press and hold Setup until the TVTV key blinks twice, then release Setup.
3. Enter 9 - 9 - 1. The TVTV key will blink twice.
4. Press and release the digit 1. The TVTV key will blink twice.
Note: Substitute 1 with 0 if searching for a Cable code, 2 if searching for a DVD, VCR or PVR and 3 if searching for an Audio device
5. Press Power and aim the remote control at the TV and press CH + one or more times until the TV turns off.
NOTE: In the search mode, the remote control will send IR codes from its library to the selected device, starting with the most popular code first.
6. Press Setup once to lock in the code.The TVTV key will blink twice.
7. To search for the codes of another device, repeat steps 1 to 5, but substitute the AUX key for the device you are searching for.

Here is what I did for my Bose Solo Tv to work on the Bell 9242 receiver.( see page 17 of Bell 9242 guide) 1. Hold down the aux button until all lights flash. 2. Press 2 to ensure Aux is set to audio. 3.Enter code 761 and press the pound (#) button. Now to have the satellite remote default volume to Bose Solo do the following. 1.Press and hold AUX 2.press # pound 3. Press the + side of volume 4. Press 0 5. Press pound ( AUX button will flash 3 times) 6. Press SAT mode 7. Test the volume on Bose Solo. (see page 22 of Bell 9242 guide)

The code I used and it seems to work is 0194, but while trying to program my receiver, It changed some setting and the picture keeps looping over and over on the screen, and I can't get it to stop, I even made it worse while messing with the settings....
