I have a MX4101N and we are trying to make a copy of a Business Week article. It printed fine to the copier but when we try and make copies of the document there is a yellow line going across each page. I tried black and white and color but both had the line. Any idea what I can do to get the yellow line to go away.

At machine you can select 'monitor'from the bottom of the screen and select the log for copy or print. If you have network access to the machine you can use the RUI, it's much clearer. Just type in the IP address of your machine and the RUI interface will be displayed. You'll find print, scan and copy logs easy to find there and print.
Have you tried to get it to print anything else? Like one of the internal reports, or just a document from your computer. That will determine if it can print at all.
Once you can establish that it can (or can't) print, then you can troubleshoot other items.
You did mention that you only use it a few times a week, it could be that the cartridge has dried up, or the print nozzle has become blocked.
my printer will not copy what i want to copy . i have tried to copy something new and it keeps going back to what i copied a week or two ago . iv'e canceled and tried every thing i know . very disgusting. help .
Make 1 copy with the lid open & verify that the scan lamp is lighting & that the scanner moves. A blown lamp is the most common cause for all black copies.
