While watching television last night, the tv just turned off by itself. When I turned it back on, the blue power light was on, but the temp and lamp lights both were flashing red. Now the lamp light stays on and the television will not turn back on. I went to Hitachi's website, but that was no help whatsoever!

Try this:
Symptom: All Front LED indicators are flashing in sequence: Power-->Temp-->Lamp-->Power......continuously
Cause: Replace Lamp . This symptom may happen all the time or it may be intermittent. It is normal if it occurrs from time to time, See OG under TV Front Indicators explanation notes.

I had the same problem, and i replaced the lamp bulb, now my problem is after i changed the lamp a blue spot appear in the screen, sometimes it does'nt look too big, but after a few minutes of use starts getting bigger and more visible, so i would like to know if the problem could be the new lamp (posible defective) or if is there anithing else I can do to get it fix.
I will Appreciate any information.
