Panasonic Palmcorder Camcorder sdr-h40p/pc Software

For the VideoCam Suite 1.0 (software) that comes with the camcorder requires Microsoft Windows xp professional service pack 2 but I have service pack 3. Have you heard if Panasonic is working on a update for the service pack 3? It comes of at a mod file. Can't open.

I just got the Panasonic camcorder SDR-H40 . Videocam suite 1.0 is not working. I was able to upload my video but I can't edit it. I keep getting an error message that says something like "Video cam has encountered a problem and will be shutting down. And when I try to edit it in Windows Movie Maker I get the same message.

I downloaded the "up-date" for the videocam thing from Panasonic...BUT since I do'nt have the original 1.0 software from the CD I can't use it....Would you mind sending me the original program in an email? I'll send you the update that I'm guessing will fix the problem you're having with serv. pack 3...
Thanks....
Richard

I have the same problem with my Panasonic SDR-H40P digital cam. The problem is the.mod files on the harddrive. Most editing software cannot get the files from the cam to the pc; either not reconized or seemingly write protected.
After a bit of research I have found a cheap solution.
AVS4U has bundles software packages that give u excellent capabilities.
THe best one I found that they have is the Video editor. They also have a simple MOD converter.
Cross my fingers IT WORKED.
What a relief.
For a yearly registation fee with all the updates available u can get the software bundle with 27 softwares included for $59 until Dec 2, 2008
aftwards it is $149
Still a great deal I think.
If it wasnt for this sight I may have never researched this problem.
Good luck and hope this will help u all.

My panasonic camcorder is sdr-h40 i can't load my videos in to my pc sence i've upgrade my computer from windows xp to windows 7 my sd card/hard disk video camera software video cam suite 1.0 is not...

Hi, the VideoCam software isn't compatible with Windows 7, but you can still copy videos and pictures to your computer and edit or view them with other software. Videos are saved by default as MPEG-2 files, and photos are saved as JPEG files -- both of these formats are recognized by a wide variety of programs. (For example, Microsoft's Picture Viewer, which comes with Windows, can display JPEGs, and Microsoft Office Picture Manager can edit them.)
