Camera Temperature This camera is so frustrating to me! Every time I turn it on it says "camera temperature is too low. keep camera power on. please wait." It's been on for 30 minutes now and it still says it. Anybody else have this problem?

Same problem here. No matter how long the camera is on it says, "camera temperature is too low. Leave camera on." Any suggestions out there?

My camera started having the low temperature problem yesterday. I called JVC and they said there were no prior reports of this problem. They recommended that I send the camera to them for repair. I am very upset that this happened, because I have hours of videos on the camera that I don't want to lose. We are going to send it in this week for repair, so I am crossing my fingers it is not a problem with the hard drive.

Mine is an everio gz-mg37u and i get that same bulls*** on the screen at every power up. First I tried waiting a while then switching all the switches between camera and video mode, record and watch mode, etc. and one time it worked and the message went away. Haven't been able to do that since.

Now what I do is turn it on, wrap it in a blanket, leave it about 10 minutes, then turn the power off and on again. Works fine for me, and if I turn it off and then turn it back on within a few minutes before it cools down, it works fine. There has to be a messed up sensor in this thing that I can desolder somewhere......

I think I finally figured it out, when I opened the camera, it didn't have a hard drive in it. I bought one on eBay for $30 for it, (hitachi 30gb zif hdd) and now everything works fine. Maybe your hdd is bad?

My Everio MZ-MG555u same problem, after flying to 3000ft landed and the camera was dead, switched power on and it said temp too low please wait, waited till the cows came home!!!!!. Removed the hard drive replaced with identical Hitachi 30H hard drive from ebay $43(how to do is on youtube) warmed the oven left camera in the oven to warm up, hooked up the power dock and formatted works like new. Note cannot format on battery power will not complete. This is a common problem with the H/drive must be replaced.

When i turn on my camera it says battery temperature high, and wont let me use my camera. What do I do?

To clear your warning message

  • Battery Temperature High
  • 1 Press the "Power" button on the camera to turn it off. If the flash is blinking, the camera will turn off automatically after 30 seconds.
  • 2 Set the camera aside and wait for at least half an hour for the battery to cool. If you have a spare battery, take the old battery out and insert the new one.
  • 3 Press the "Power" button to turn the camera back on.

I am trying to charge my sony digital camera after a long time. I am not getting the charger light indication. Can you please tell me what i have to do

Was your Sony camera battery power off before you store it for a long time? If so, it should have make a great damage of your Li-ion rechargeable battery. The best way to store your Li-ion camera batteries is to keep the Acer batteries at cool and dry places at optimal temperature of about 20 degrees with only about 40% power remained.

Will not stay on.. turns on and then beeps once and turns off.. the battery is fully charged

Welcome to FixYa.

There are three reasons why your camera power ceases while in use.

* The Battery is exhausted
- insert a charged battery or recharged the battery
* The camera is turned off automatically
- turn on the camera power again
* Operation has ceased in a low temperature outside of the camera usage temperature range
- make sure the camera and battery warm by placing them in your pocket, etc. and then immediately before shooting, place the battery in the camera and then shoot.

In your case, posible will be the 3rd reason. If you still having the same issue after doing the troubleshooting. I also suggest to removed and re-insert the battery and try to switch it on again.

If this option wont work, you have to contact your service center.

I will be more happy to know if my solution will help you or not on your issues on your camera.

It could be a bad battery. Try using AC power or getting a new battery. What is the temperature. if it's cold try bringing the camera slowly up to room temperature.

Panasonic DMC-FX07 Digital Camera won't turn on.

Check your batteries, but otherwise it could be a power board. It could cost between $90 - $125 to replace the board

JVC Everio GZ-360BU Camera Temperature is Too Low - Keep Power On??

I'm an English guy with the same problem... What you do is keep the power on for a long time, or you charge it up with the charger. Trust me. However, it is very rare for this to occur. There should be a message saying: "Temperature is too low, keep power on." There should be another message reading: "Turn off power and turn on again to check if camera is fully-functional. Thanks for giving me something to do while X-Plane downloads on my Mac OS X.

High Camera Temperature Camera will shut off

That is usually the cable to the flash has come loose. Open the back of the camera and check. It is on the top left of the camera. Reseat the connector and you will be fine.

"High camera temperature"

If there is a memory card inside the cad slot, take it out first. Open the camera. When the "high temperature camera" error appears, after it goes off, "BLOW AIR INTO THE CARD SLOT BESIDE THE CAMERA SEVERAL TIMES. I have blown air manually by my mouth. Then you can put back the memory card back or you can just simply Turn-ON sa camera. See if it work. It works fine for my CX7530 (i got this idea thru trial & error). Stupid kodak service center won't help, they just want to service my camera for almost half the price that i bought mine, & even suggested that i  should buy a new one.
I hope this works for you. ----kodak camera user from the Philippines.
