Whirlpool Ultimate Care II washer

I fill my washer and start it to washing and the dial does not move and I have to move it and turn it to rinse and then to spin. I have to babysit it but I can get it through a cycle.

Thanks

My washer has a similar problem. Water fills but the spin cycle does not start. I have to either shake the waher or pull and push the knob several times before it starts to spin. Changed timer and knob but it did not help.

Problem started after movers move it to my new home.

If it will perform all of the functions if you turn your timer knob manually, I would open the console and check for any loose connections, although from your description your timer motor has gone bad (only availible as the whole timer) It can be purchased from online from the manufacture or from a local parts store.

Washer stopping mid-cycle

Push down on lid. You may have a bad lid switch. Start machine and press the switch down with something like a screwdriver and see if the motor runs.

Washer stopped after wash cycle

The lid switch is the culprit. Push down on the lid it should start. It needs to be adjusted . the tab on the lid is not activating the switch. Try triming the door bumpers.

Whirlpool ultimate care II keeps filling flooding the garage. It will not move off the fill position on the little turn dial. we manually move the dial to try to get it to agitate and the only spot it will...

A couple questions.

Does it continue to fill with the timer turned off.
Yes, you have a mixing valve problem
No. You probably have a pressure switch problem,

I would guess its the pressure switch, check to make sure the hose running from the outer tub to the pressure switch has a cut in it and needs to be replaced, or the pressure switch is bad.

If you are uncomfortable trying to find problem call a service tech.
