My SM11 model Steamist was installed above our shower/steam room. It is 2 years old. While in use recently, it made a loud sound like a low-pitch popping sound or low boom. Imagine somebody inside a closet is blowing up and popping a paper bag and you are hearing it from outside the closet. Since the unit is above the steam room, it was loud. I'm talking loud enough to get your attention. There was no water leak. It just made a loud boom and shut off. What is most disturbing is that it not only threw the breaker switch in the panel box in the garage (the breaker for the unit), it caused my main breaker switch at the outside meter to go off. The electricity to the entire house was shut off! What could have possibly happened in the unit to make that sound and cause the breaker switch and the main breaker to go off?
