YAre you sure your machine can support X64 OS?
mastericpr08, No I am not.
But then again if Acer sells a product saying it WILL work with Win7 and ships the cd to upgrade it to Win7 x64 (Duo Core), should I REALLY have to fully investigate if Acer is right/wrong? The nb worked for maybe 4-7 months before this Black-LCD-with-battery-installed problem.
To be sure go to My Computer Properties and there is the view basic information about your computer, under System you gona see Manufacture, Rating, Processor Installer memory (RAM) and them System type. There you gona read 32 or 64-bit Operating System.

mastericpr08, the NB is a Duo Core 64. Of course it says 64-bit operating system.
FYI, there is a quicker way to see that info... Win-Pause or install SIW.exe to see the nuts and bolts of any system.
If it worked fine for a long time and now doesn't with the battery present, the possibilities are: hw gone bad (inverter, bulb, connector, etc) or drivers/SW (MS power management, a driver update w/ the weekly MS upgrades, etc).
I am trying to get some input from folks that have had a similar situation.
If it is hw, then why the fail w/ battery and OK without?
