It's no longer in production as it's since been replaced with more recent technology, so it's not a model that's available to buy from Dyson direct. Hi. I think I can put your mind at rest. I work in a Flymo service agency. The Flymo Contour Cordless Power Plus has a guide wheel for accurate edging but, in common with all other Flymo edgers and trimmers, the actual cutting is done by a whirling thin (1.5mm) plastic cord that is designed to wear out and is fed from a replaceable reel under the cutter shield. The only risk in cutting up to stone, concrete or other hard material is rapid wear of the plastic cord. Unless your step is made of exceptionally soft stone there is no reason to think that the step will be damaged at all.
