RedOctane Guitar Hero III Wireless Kramer Striker Guitar Controller for Playstation 2 Logo

Both of my red octane dongles stopped working. Both guitars light up, but neither dongle will light up. I have followed the sync instructions, taken the neck off and cleaned all contacts, and replaced all batteries. They worked for over a year. Do the dongles need replacement or is there a fix? I have read and tried several troubleshooting tips for this product online to no avail. Any assitance would be greatly appreciated by, not only my kids, but my wife and I too!

SOURCE: Receiver will not turn on for wireless guitar

I have torn 2 of these receivers apart and have ohm'd them out and found that the manufacturing process to put them together is very sub par.

On the two I had Capacitor c3 was off the board (smd). This is NOT a repairable problem if you don't have the low heat soldering equipment. Besides, you might correct one problem and find you have others because of the forceful procedures you have to do to get it apart.

Unfortunately the only thing you can do is buy a replacement (available at Red Octane's site[19.99]) or take a chance on EBAY sellers that claim to have the item [9.99].

Also, if you have a lot of time on your hands it is possible to hard wire the device (I do not have the pinouts). Pinouts should be online as I have seen several articles on it.

Hopefully I have given you some insight.

I have bought a wireless ps3 guitar ( KRAMMER) which is a red octane and i cannot find a usb port on it ??? please help

It's actually hidden inside the guitar neck....well it is for the warriors of Rock guitar for PS3. I have one of these but no dongle so if anyone has one please let me know.ee96b211-8ef1-4fdd-9c2a-202ece6747f3.jpg16319844579014752486403742228714-zkt5tkphum4ofoiikpxk5o2c-6-2.jpg

And this is an adapter for PS3 which allows the console to receive wireless signal from wireless guitar. I have 5 guitar hero guitars so before anyone nitpicks I am aware that this wireless dongle is for my Kramer Striker guitars. I have 2 working wireless receivers and am willing to swap if someone has a wireless USB dongle for a PS3 warriors of Rock guitar. Not the triangular shaped one but the little one which is identical to Skylanders Portal USB. The one which is hidden inside the neck which I included photo of above. Thanks

When my son tries to play his guitar all the lights are flashing on it and we cant figure out how to get it working..

The flashing lights on the controller mean the guitar is not connecting to the wireless usb dongle connected to the PS3.

1. Verify that the wireless box is plugged in firmly to the usb port on the front of the PS3.

2. If that doesn't work, look on the wireless usb dongle for the guitar hero guitar controller. (It should be a black box with the guitar hero logo on it. You will find a small push button on the dongle. (Make sure your PS3 is turned on, though your guitar hero game does not have to be open. It may be a good idea to have the game running, so you can test your guitar or make sure it is really working). Press and hold the button on the wireless usb dongle for a few seconds. Five seconds should be enough. Doing this attempts to re-connect the dongle and the controller. You will know when the connection is good when the red lights on the controller go steady, as well as the LED on the small button you pressed on the wireless usb dongle. If either lights continue to blink, there is a connection problem still.

3. Try changing the batteries in the guitar controller. Weak batteries tend to cause connection issues.

4. Test the wireless usb dongle and controller with another PS3. This will rule out an issue with your PS3 system.

5. If the problem still occurs on another PS3, the wireless dongle may have gone bad. (This does happen rarely.) Replacements are cheap to find on ebay

Guitar hero world tour for ps3

i had the same problem but with trial and error i came up with a soulution
1. Turn on the Playstation 3
2. Plug the dongle for the drum set into an open port on the PS3, the light will begin to flash slowly.
3. Hold down the button (where the light is flashing) on the dongle until it begin flashing very rapidly. Release the button and the light continues to flash rapidly.
4. Hold down the PS button on the drum set until the red light starts flashing rapidly.
5. Within a few seconds you will get a solid light on both the Guitar Hero World Tour Drum Set and the Playstation 3.

Unable to sync Belkin wireless travel mouse

Hate to say this without sounded silly.. but we had these problems, and could not sync mouse with PC. THEN.. I read directions slowly, again.. and figured out.. it is the BOTTOM of the mouse we were not doing. There is a button UNDER the mouse you push.. not the bottons on top. (BOTTOM LEFT side it says). We were clicking the top, bottom of the button. Anyway.. just make sure you turn mouse over. :)
