Hi,

TheSony Audio Interactive Radio Frequency (S-AIR) is a wireless digital audiotransmission signal that plays surround sound using a radio frequency that canbe placed anywhere that is convenient within the maximum communication distancewithout the signal breaking up. The system can transfer up to four channels ofCD quality (48kHz, 16 bits) audio data with no data compression.

SOURCE: S-Sir Sub Unit won't pair

I almost went out and bought a Sony HDMI cable but I tried something first and it worked me. I wrapped tightly the transceiver on the back of the main unit with aluminum foil and what do you know it fixed the problem. I guess since I was using a cheap HDMI cable the foil helped to shield out the interference. Sony HDMI cable $70.00 or aluminum foil 5 cents.  Let me know if this works for you as well.

My S Master TA-SB500WR2 how do you turn on Bluetooth

Sony S-Air systems are equipped with the ability to transmit audio wirelessly to speakers that are directly paired with the system. This wireless transmission can remove the clutter of speaker wires from your business premises, improving both the appearance of the business and saving time and money spent on having to run the wires run from the system to the speakers. If the speakers are not paired to the Sony equipment, then other speakers in the area on the same frequency may pick up audio signals using the particular ID frequency of the equipment.
1.
Place the amplifier with the attached speaker that you wish to assign to the Sony audio equipment as close to the unit as possible so that it can receive the pairing signal from the unit.
2.
Press the power button on the S-Air audio equipment to turn on the system, then press the "Function" button several times until the front panel display reads "DVD."
3.
Click the "Display" button to access the Control Menu, then click the up or down arrow until you highlight "Setup." Click the "+" button to open the Setup Display.
4.
Highlight the "Custom" option with the arrow keys and press "+." Select the "Custom" menu followed by the "Audio Setup" menu and finally the "S-Air Setup" option. Select "ID," and then select the ID of the speaker that you're pairing with the unit - for example "A" for speaker A.
5.
Insert the wireless transceiver into the slot on the rear of the speaker amplifier. Set the selector switch on the rear of the amplifier to the same ID as the S-Air unit. Plug in the amplifier and wait for the word "Linked" to appear in the amplifier's display and for the S-Air indicator light on the front of the amplifier to light up, indicating that the speaker is linked with the main unit.
6.
Select "Pairing" on the S-Air audio equipment to begin pairing the equipment with the speaker.
7.
Place a small pointed object against the "Pairing" button on the rear of the speaker and use it to press the button. The S-AIR indicator light will begin to flash. Wait for the display to show "Pairing Complete" and for the light to stop flashing to indicate that the amplifier with speakers attached is directly linked to the S-Air equipment.
8.
Repeat the pairing process with each additional speaker attached to the system, changing the ID for each one.

I have an S-air wieless stereo and when I try to add additional speakers (wall jack type) the main unit will only pair with one speaker at a time - it unpairs the others. I can't get all of them to play at...

The unit probably does this so that you don't have an impedance mismatch which would mess up the internal amplifier...most home stereos will do this to protect the amplifier...

Philips DC912/37 will not pair with the subwoofer. I have had the device for 2 years, and the subwoofer stopped working recently, and now it will not pair with the tuner.

This worked for me. Try it and it should work for you all as well..;-)

Rear S-Air speakers cutting in and out

I read on another review that the HDMI cable is causing this problem because it is beside the S-Air transmitter on the main unit. I could not get my rear speakers to pair or work, and sure enough, when I removed the HDMI cable and hooked up the unit via Component Video to my Sony 52" XBR TV, the speakers paired and worked. When I plugged the HDMI cable in they did not work. I am going to try to purchase a higher-end, more expensive HDMI cable and see if that helps. The whole point of HDMI is for true blue ray 1080p pictures. Hope this helps.

S-Sir Sub Unit won't pair

In order to properly pair the units, verify that the channel switch on the back of the sub units are set to either A, B, or C. Then go into the setup menu and go to setup tab. You can then scroll down to system setup. Verify that the base unit is set to the same channel as your sub units A, B, or C. You then can choose the pairing operation. Have your sub units close to the base and on for this operation. They must be linked to have the pairing operation work. The pairing option will ask if you are ready to pair a sub unit. Select OK. You will then be instructed to begin pairing. Find the pairing button on the back of the sub unit and depress. Depending on the sub unit you may see a red light flash or the front display will say pairing. Once complete the menu screen on the TV will tell you that the pairing is complete and ask if you would like to do another unit. Continue if you have another unit or select OK to complete the process. Once you return to the system setup menu the channel indicator A, B or C will have the work pairing next to it (i.e A (pairing)). If you continue to have trouble you can change the RF channel on the system setup menu from AUTO to ON. Good Luck. CEB
