After the time went off from being cleaned, the oven door did open. When I went back to open it and get the debris out and it was cooled it won't open. It doesn't have the lock code on either. How can I open it??? Why would it lock after I had already opened it? I have 40 people coming for dinner in 3 days!

Like you, my problems happened after using the self cleaning. I followed the instructions you gave. It did not clear the problem. The display show shows everything is working...preheating..then timed cooking. But, no heat. What do I do? I have locked and unlocked the door.

I have a Whirlpool MOD. RBS275PDB17 single electric self-cleaning oven; although the manual is generic, it specifies, "When the cycle is completed and the oven cools, "End" will appear on the lower oven display and "LOCKED' will disappear" and "To Stop Self-Clean any time: Press UPPER/OFF, LOWER/OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not unlock until the oven cools." Has your oven had time to cool?

Troubleshooting guide>>Control Lock, p. 7: "The Control Lock shuts down the control panel pads to prevent unintended use of the ovens. When the control locked, only the CLOCK, TIMER SET and TIMER OFF pads will function. The Control Lock is preset unlocked, but can be locked. TO LOCK/UNLOCK CONTROL; Before locking, make sure the ovens, Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and "START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds. Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display. Could this help?

Used the self cleaning cycle 24 hrs. ago, but the oven door will not unlock. We tried to run it through another clean cycle but we recieve an E1 error.

Sorry to read about your problem, I hope this helps you out.
you may have done a panel lock, so try the first solution.

To Lock/Unlock Control: Before locking, make sure the ovens, Timer and Timed Cooking are off. Press and hold START/ENTER until a single tone sounds and "Loc," a picture of a lock and "START?" will appear on the oven display, about 5 seconds. Repeat to unlock and remove "Loc" from display.

To Stop Self-Clean any time:
Press UPPER OFF, LOWER OFF or OFF/CANCEL. If the oven temperature is too high, the door will remain locked. It will not unlock until the oven cools.

Went to turn on self cln,

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. F5-E1 error indicates that you’ll need to check the door latch/switch and replace the part that has gone bad. Please do rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Oven door will not unlock

Hello,, Some times this will happen after a self clean cycle if the timer did not finish the entire clean. Try to set the clock to start the self clean again then simply end the self clean. This should unlock the door. If the door remains locked. You may check the oven for an error code, or the door latch itself may need to be replaced. One other possible would be to turn off the power to the oven and try to let the oven control reset. leave the power off for about 15 minutes then turn the power back on. That will sometime work aswell. Good luck and feel free to call me if you need more help.

I used the self cleaning oven and now it wont unlock and it keeps beeping f5, e1 what does this mean and how can i unlock the oven?

The E1- F5 error is a door lock error.

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...

Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused.
You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.

If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display.
This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.

Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.

Self cleaning won't shut off

that is because it needs to cool down before the oven will unlock. There should be a timer running and when it gets to "zero" it should unlock.

Self cleaning

Maryann, try shutting the breaker off for 5 minutes and see if the door unlocks. Im assuming the oven has cooled down. If that doesn't work try holding the cancel and broil pads for 3 seconds. This will put it into the quik test mode. Once in this mode press the clean button. This should toggle between lock and unlock. Don't know if this will work for you but it's worth a try..Catriver...post back.
