I have a Kenmore Elite slide in range. The stovetop works fine along with the twist knobs. But the touchpad buttons and the oven doesn't work at all. When i tried unpluging it to reset it, it flashes an F30 error. I can't find any info on this error and don't know what i need to replace. Thanks for your help.

The F30 error code means the temperature sensor probe is open. First check the wiring, then check the probe. And if necessary, switch to a meat thermometer instead of a sensor probe. F31 is the error for a shorted temperature sensor probe.

SOURCE: My Kenmore oven won't work there is a PF 5AB error

The PF on your control indicates a power failure and should be removed by pressing the cancel button. The 5ab code indicates the range is in the SABBATH mode.

If a power failure occurs when the SABBATH mode is set, the oven will return to the OFF mode and will turn the power OFF to the oven.

To ENABLE SABBATH mode:

* Open the oven door
* Press STOP/CLEAR
* Press both the HOUR "UP" and "DOWN" arrow pad at the same time - and hold for 5 seconds.
SAB ON will disappear from the display.

To disable SABBATH mode: Repeat the steps above and SAB OFF will appear.

To set the SABBATH mode for use during the SABBATH/Holidays:
* Press BAKE
* Pres TEMP "UP" and "DOWN" Arrow pad to enter a different temperature other than 350 degrees. (Between 170F and 500F)
* Press COOK TIME
* Press HOUR/MIN "up" or "down" arrow to set cook time
* Press DELAY START to set a delayed cook time (optional)
* Press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds
SAB will appear on the display indicating it is ready.
* Press START
* To STOP cooking - press STOP/CLEAR
* To exit the SABBATH mode and return to normal operation - press and hold TIMER OFF for 5 seconds.

SOURCE: Installed new EOC for Sears Kenmore Elite 790 46609500 oven.

The F30 error code indicates that the electronic oven control board detects an "open" oven temperature sensor probe circuit.
This is usually caused by a failed oven temperature sensor probe.

Replacing this component will likely fix your problem.

You can order this part from www.searspartsdirect.com website.

If you replace this part yourself, be sure that you unplug the range to disconnect electrical power before accessing this component.

On some models, you can replace the probe by removing the screws that mount this component to the inside back wall of the oven.
Carefully pull the probe inside the oven cavity until you encounter the wire harness disconnect plug.
Unplug the sensor and replace it with the new one. Mount the new probe on the back wall of the oven.

On some models, you have to remove the lower back oven panel to access the sensor probe.

If you replace the probe and still have this problem, you will need to unplug the range and measure the resistance through the violet wires that plug into the control board (this is where the sensor probe circuit is connected to the control board).
If the resistance through the oven temperature sensor probe circuit is normal (about 1100 ohms at room temperature) then the electronic oven control board will need to be replaced.

My Kenmore Elite Range Model C970 oven is not working, the stovetop is working great.

Model no. c970 xxxxxxx
there should be a 7 digit number after the 970 this is needed.

Now if it has a rotary knob to run the oven chances are it has shorted and needs replaced. if you are going to do this your self be sure to unplug the range because 220 volts will kill you no question.

Good luck.

F1 keeps flashing, top elements work but oven doesn't. What part do i need to replace? I have kenmore electric range

Hello,

The F1 error code means that the computer thinks a button on the touchpad is stuck. Sometimes this can be resolved by making sure the touchpad connector fits tight into the control board. The F1 code can be cleared by pushing CANCEL/OFF. If it returns the touchpad needs to be replaced . Gene
