Dc-t50 won't transfer pictures onto my computer

I have a dc-t50, and for the past few months i cannot transfer pictures onto my computer. i connect it to my usb chord and all and it still won't work. i think it's pushed in all the way. the light stays red. is it the usb chord or the camera?

I am having the exact same problem and I even bought a new USN cable so I know that is not the problem. I downloaded the drivers for the camera dc-t50 and still the computer is saying driver not installed

Hey roboticgirl,
What is most likely causing this are the drivers that run the included software have either been accidentally deleted or they need to be updated. I would reinstall the software that came with the camera, or you could purchase a card reader and upload your pictures to your computer that way which should not require any drivers other than the ones in your operating system. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan

Transferring pictures onto my desktop

You don't need any software.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or, despite what I said first, you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Hi,

Remove the batteries wait a few minutes. Put fresh batteries back in and turn the camera on. This resets the camera. Then remove the memory card from the slot from your camera. Then insert back and check you will not be getting this error.

If still there is some problem, take the memory card out and copy the pictures from the memory card to system and then format it. Insert the card back to the camera. You won't get the format error.

Hope this helps.

How to get pictures off sony cyber shot onto computer using usb

When using Windows Operating System on the Computer, follow the steps given below:

Connect the Camera to the Computer using the supplied USB cable. The Computer will recognize the Camera as a removable drive and list in the Windows Explorer. Press the Windows logo on the keyboard along with the "E" key to open the windows explorer. If the Sony Camera is listed in the explorer as a removable drive then double click on it to open and navigate through the files and folders. Open the "DCIM" for images and "MP_Root" for videos. Once the images and videos are visible, right click on the desired file then select copy. Next, paste the selected file on the hard drive of the Computer.

If you want to select all the files at once then press "CTRL+A", to copy, "CTRL+C" and to paste, "CRTL+V".
