I have a Jazzy Power Chair that hasn't been in use for several years. When I tried to charge the battery only the red light comes on. How do I get the yellow light to come on to show it is being charged?

Retired get new batteries if they haven't been charged for that long they're shot. Invest in 2 good U1 batteries, charge before use and you should be good to go Good Luck

The red light indicates that power to the off-board charger is on. Try a different ac wall outlet that you know works. If a red or green light does not come on you will need to replace charger. Also check the condition of your batteries - dead batteries will not charge.
I tried to charge my jazzy. The charge light (red) remained on for several hours. Finally I moved the wire slightly the charge light turned green than faded to red. What is my problem? Your solution would be greatly appreciated.
Mary yep Even though the batteries are charging they are not holding the charge to provide enough power for the chair. Usually you have one battery that is weak and causing the problem but both batteries must be replaced. If Medicare paid for your chair then they will pay for 80% of the new batteries. You can contact the provider that sold you your chair and ask if they can replace your batteries. If not, you can contact Repair Express @ 1-877-581-3733 or Roadrunner Mobility @ 1-800-467-2668 to have tech come out and repair the chair for you and they will bill Medicare for the cost of repair. The green light won't come on until the batteries are fully charged now if after an overnight charge you still don't have a green light then I would replace the batteries. Hope this helps you

The battery charger is only made to last 1 year if you
re lucky. They are all made in China very cheaply and some only last a matter of months. If you are on Medicare they will replace the charger if necessary after a year. Good luck, hope this helps
