You connected it to a "USB 1.1" socket in your computer, which is only 1/40 of the speed of a "USB 2.0" socket (if your computer has any such USB sockets). If you don't have any USB 2.0 ports, buy a PCI add-in card to add some ports to your computer.

Storejet 25m 500gb not detected in my computer. device driver problem found. device driver software cannot reinstall.

Perhaps you should download updated software of your external hard drive. If still not working maybe your external hard drive is not supported by your OS or isn't compatible with your OS.

My mac is reading my transcend storejet 25 mobile 320gb, but i cant copy files from my mac unto it

Hello Kinoshia,

It seems that Transcend external hard drive have different file system. This is because the Mac machine is not able to transfer the files on to external hard drive. Please format the Transcend external hard drive from Mac machine and then hard drive is ready to accept the data from Mac machine. The drive either has to be formatted for Mac( HFS & HFS+) or FAT32 partitions. If you want to use
Transcend external hard drive for both Windows and Macs than format the drive to be FAT32.

just replace the cable of the hard disk, when you plugged the external disk drive you got that windows could recognize the USB device change the cable everything should work fine again, sometimes the wires inside the cable will be damaged due to bending or stretching or placing heavy equipment upon the cable,

My Transcend Elite Storejet 320GB fell 3 feet down the floor and also I didnt use safely remove when taking it off from the PC. Since then my HD always ask to format though I have done formatting it...

You dropped it on the floor and you removed it from a PC without using the (safely remove) option??? you might as well stab it with a knife and twist it while it's in there....

I'd say it's pretty much DEAD! but you could try deleting the partition (if you don't mind loosing all the data on it) with Windows disk manager in ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS in the control panel than try a format if there is a bit of life left in it this should work...

Hope it helped!

I have a 25M Storejet transcend hard disk 640GB. The transfer rate of the hard disk is very slow. Its about 700 KB/sec. What might be the problem?

The problem is that you have connected it to a "USB 1.1" port, which is much slower than connecting it to a "USB 2.0" port. If your desktop computer has a "USB 2.0" USB port, use it.
If not, buy an add-in PCI card to add "USB 2.0" ports to your computer.

Hi my Transcend 320 GB harddisk is not getting detected. Storejet 320Gb

hello

connect the USB external hard disk to usb port by the way disconnect other working harddisks
available on the system, boot the system with bootable cd/floppy go to command prompt and run
chkdsk on this drive

Also download "mbrfix" connect all working harddisks along with the nondetecting harddisk and run mbrfix for the USB defective harddisk

Try using different USB data transfer cable, if power source adapter is used check for rated power output in multimeter for this adapter, if found defective replace it with new/good adapter with same
specifications

Bad luck if harddisk controller has failed you have to go in for new harddisk

GOOD LUCK ooo

After formatting my currupted external 640GB HDD (Transcend Storejet 25M),I can only save 10 or so GB of data/video before it gets unresponsive. At this stage, the computer itself (Vista) does not response....

The data on the external disk was corrupted because the hard disk from it was dying. Take it out of the case , put it directly in a desktop and test it with HDTune (the free version of course) -it will tell you the damage status and if it's recoverable.
If not then it's dead - junk it.

Nothing happens whe hard drive is connected

It might happen sometime if you accidently plug out your HDD before stopping it. Just check whether drive is spinning or not. You can check that by placing your hand on it to check its vibrations. If it vibrating then you can use some recovery software to recover the drive e.g. PC File recovery/USB recovery or Easy recovery. After recovery you can format the disk and start using it again. If your HDD is not spinning then it is better you replace it.
