Where can i take my Braun 6520 to have the battery replaced?

If your shaver works but will not longer hold a charge as long as it should, the batteries need to be replaced. If the shaver is dead and the green indicator no longer illuminates when plugged in, you have waited too long and the circuit board is now damaged and can not be repaired.

I have a Braun 5550 electric razor that no longer holds a charge. i believe the battery can be replaced but I cannot see how to remove the battery. Can you advise?

You can repair the shaver by replacing the batteries only if the shaver still works. If the shaver no longer does anything...will not run and light does not illuminate when plugged it, the circuit board is now bad and can not be repaired.

To open the shaver, remove the two plastic screw covers on each side of the hole where the cord plugs in on the bottom of the shaver. Remove the two screws underneath. You can then slide the entire outer case off of the shaver. Be careful not to disturb the trimmer as it is extremely difficult to reattach. Inside, you will see a black inner cover. Unsnap to remove it and access the circuit board and batteries.

You will find compatible batteries at shaveroutlet.com. You need two. See link below for item and scroll down for helpful installation video

Batteries that get hot when charging usually indicate that they are needing replaced. I would guess that your shaver no longer holds a charge as long as it should

How to change batteries?

mcdevito75 here, There are 2 versions of batteries in Norelco shavers 1 system is where the batteries are soldered to a circuit board in which case you"d have to replace the shaver or find an appliance repair shop in your area, The 2nd is where you can replace the batteries your self but, you;ll need a set od torx screwdrivers available at any auto parts store, refer to Norelco online at Norelco.com for Battery replacement. Look for these torx screws on the back cover or by lifting the shaver head .

My Norelco 985RX electric razor does not hold charge

I think you just need a new battery. I used to take my shaver to a shaver repair place to have the battery changed. Then they moved so I tried a place that specialized in batteries (car batteries, toy batteries, etc). They also were able to repair it but for 1/4th of what I used to pay the shaver repair place.

Charging does not work and is immediately empty

I believe that you are stating that your model 4775 Braun shaver no longer holds a charge. To repair this you will need to replace the batteries. To replace the batteries, you will need to open the shaver up. First, remove the two round plastic screw covers on the bottom of the shaver then remove the screws that are underneath. The outer casing will then slide off the bottom of the shaver. You will then be able to access the batteries.
You will find batteries for model 4775 at shaveroutlet.com. See link below

Battery won't hold its charge, could I get them replaced? Could I replace them myself? If so, with what type of battery?

Rechargeable shavers use either a NiCad or NiMd batteries.

In order to get the correct battery, you need to check your shaver model number and check the following link to see which your shaver uses.

http://www.electricshaverstore.com/search.asp?p=1&w=%5F&c=battery&t=s

You can buy it from them or find them elsewhere, if you wish.

You can do the repair yourself if you can disassemble the shaver case, which is usually held together with a couple of screws normally hidden behind plastic caps.

Then once the shaver covers are off, you can unsolder the old batteries and replace and resolder the new one in. You'll need a decent soldering iron to accomplish this.

When done, put the case back together and allow it to charge for a good 8 hours before using. It typically takes a few recharges to get the batteries able to hold a full charge, but you should be good after a week of use.

Hope you find this Very Helpful and best regards!
