The video play back has no audio on the camcorder or when playing online?

You need to connect the Video and Audio outputs from your camcorder or VHS player/recorder to the Honestech converter - Yellow is video, red and white audio. You play the tape back on the camcorder or VHS player/recorder and the video on the tape will play into the Honestech converter and will be digitised and sent via the USB connection to the PC and recorded on the PC. The Honestech cannot control your camcorder or VCR directly so you need to manually set it to play the tape.

Are you playing the video directly form the hard disk in the camcorder or are you transferring the file to the laptop first? Reading high volumes of data via USB is slow and the PC may not be able to read the data fast enough from the camcorder. Try copying the video to the laptop first, then play it back.

videos recorded on your camcorder is in mpeg 4 format so you need a codec for mpeg 4. ro download vlc media player and play your videos from there.click here to download free vlc media player.

how did you transfer the video from the card to your PC?

did you connect the camcorder to your PC or did you use a memory card reader?

if you can play the audio then what you need is the right video codec for the unit
try searching for video codecs through search engines

make sure that the software that you are using to play the video plays the file format of your video,

try using roxio, then connect the camcorder to your computer via USB, make sure that the drivers are installed, play the video through your camcorder then use roxio to capture it real time instead of the usual "copy-paste"

Sorry to say- but it is trashed.. It would cost more to fix it than it would be to buy a new one.

connect a lead via your tv video out audio out jacks. Select tha appropriate channel (You may have to go through the av channel on you tv and tune in the channel you want to record) or, video or dvd player audio out video out jacks. connect other end to your camcorder. Select on the camcorder menu video in audio in. Turn on tv. If connected to video or dvd player, press play. Press record on your camera. When finished recording press stop. Presuming the camcorder is tape, you can buy a tape adaptor to play or record your mini tapes in a standard video recorder, then take them out of the adaptor and play them back on your camcorder. You can also do all this via a computer. Also if the camcorder is disk or hard drive it can be used the same way as a regular dvd recorder to record tv programmes once connected to you t.v. I had the same problem. Try this: open the LCD screen so that you can access the playback buttons.Make sure camera is in playback mode. Press the "menu" button. Select "narration" . Switch narration to "off" .Now you should hear the recorded audio when your tape is playing.

Need more info please.is this when you play back thru the adaptor or playback from the camcorder its self???

I happen to have this setup... you need to set the audio source (the usb camera connection.) It is possible to hook up via the sound card, but that could be stressful for some.
