COMPUTER LOCKED BY VIRUS, HOW TO OPEN IT

Hello my advice to you, is to visit a computer repair shop, and let them remove the virus for you.
You can try to install this program, in failsafe mode:
http://www.malwarebytes.org/products/malwarebytes_free/
By pressing F8 when booting.
And run the program when installed.
The virus will probably don`t let you install anything, but you can try to open msconfig, by typing msconfig in start and run, and disable suspicious running programs in the start selection.
This will prevent the program to start next time you reboot.
If you have succes with this, run malwarebytes when you have installed the program.

Good luck

The machine will lock up when i run x program. the more programs i have in my computer the faster x program will lock up

That program has a coding error - most likely a memory leak. The only way to fix that is to get a newer version of that program and hope that they have fixed it.

Webroot AntiVirus w/Antispyware locks up during scan

Try running it in "safe mode" to see if you can get through it that way. Windows Safe Mode can be done by restarting the computer and pressing F8 key while computer starts.

I've had an experience with other programs working fine after using this technique.

Identifying lock-ups and freezes This document will help you to locate and troubleshoot programs that cause your notebook to hang, freeze, or lock-up. Print this document or save it to your hard disk drive to have the reference available after disconnecting from the internet. Symptoms of notebook lock-ups, freezes, and hangs include:
  • Nothing moves or blinks on the computer display.
  • The computer will not respond to the mouse or keyboard.
  • An error message appears and will not go away.
Freezes, crashes, and lock-ups may be caused by programs locking up resources, software conflicts, or older programs being incompatible with newer operating systems. Follow the steps in this document, in order, until the problem is resolved. Close locked-up programs and locate problem software If your notebook locks up or stops responding while using a program, close the stalled program to continue using other programs. Also, while closing the program, take note of which other programs are running at the same time.
  1. Close the program that is "Not responding" and determine if the lock-ups continue.
  2. If the lock-ups no longer occur after the program is closed, go to Uninstall and re-install the problem software .
  3. If the lockups continue, press ctrl + alt + delete to go back to the Task Manager.
  4. Write down all of the programs that are running when the lock-up occurs. The conflict could have originated by another software application that is running at the same time.
  5. Close other programs that are running one at a time (except for Explorer and Systray) and determine if the lockups continue. Once you find the problematic software application, go to Uninstall and re-install the problem software .
Uninstall and re-install the problem software To resolve the problem that is causing the notebook to lock-up, uninstall the suspected software and then re-install it. If your software came with an uninstaller program, use it first; otherwise, follow the steps below to uninstall and re-install the program.
  1. Click Start > Control Panel .
  2. When the Control Panel window opens, select Uninstall a program.
  3. Select the program that is causing the lockups and right-click it. Then select Uninstall . NOTE: Remove all versions of the same program. Sometimes upgrades will not remove old versions of the software before installing the new version. This leaves multiple versions of the same software on your computer.
  4. After removing the problem programs, close the Control Panel.
  5. Restart the computer.
  6. Re-install the program following the vendor's instructions

Computer locked up by other program

Do a SAFE BOOT (search Google on how to do this for your model) to start the computer with minimal drivers and running software.
Then, go to Start>Control Panel>Programs and Uninstall this program that is causing issues. You can also go to Start>Run>type msconfig>Startup tab>uncheck the box next to the software name. Then go to the Boot tab to uncheck SAFE MODE.

Reboot into Normal mode, and run anti-virus and malware scans.

1996 Dodge Stratus

Hi...
Depend of the Model and Engine size.
Some of this Computer need to be Programed with the Vin number and Theft code,
To work correctly.
But the first step I can Recomend is Get the Vehicle Scanned to see if there any available code.
To do the Right procedure related with the code. ..
But some times even when you Have programed the computer but if the BODY computer has a problem will prevent the car to running.
When the Engine run for about 5 seconds, is mean the Theft system is activated.
Are a few step to program the ECM installed on the car.
But is a little complicated because all the Accessories need to work ok. Door locks, Horn, Lights.
Door lock cylinders and Trunk lock cylinder.

Try with the scanner, first.
But if you need some information let me know.
I'm a mechanic and have information for all Vehicles.

Thank you for use fixya....

Computer will not shut down

Update and run your virus control scan

Run a registry cleanup if you have a program for that

Go to toolbar>tools>internet options>general tab and delete all
cookies

Go to start>all programs>accessories>system tools >clean disc

If you have a separate spyware program ,scan for spyware

How many programs do you hae running in the background?Look at the lower right corner and the little icons there. Turn off anything unneccessary (leave your virus control and spyware control on)

After you have completed all this, get back to me if your computer still will not shutdown or restart.

Does it have an on and off switch? You may have to use it, but you may lose things, so do all of the above and get back to me?

Pc locks up

Have you rcently installed something that could be causing the issue? Without knowing exactly what happened prior to the problem, I would recommend using the Restore CD that came with your computer. That should solve you issue. It takes normally anywhere between 30 minutes to 2 hours, but it might save you time in the long run from troubleshooting. Just remember to save anything on your computer that you need that wasn't there when you got the computer to a cd or disk before you do the restore.
