There is usually a float switch inside the DW body. Usually a polystyrene lump. This may be stuck in the up position, or a pool of water may still exist within the case.

When you say trips the electric - is this your wall MCB or ELCB ? If it is that then there is a major electrical fault on this machine that needs investigation.

I have a miele G646 dishwasher whihs has sprung a leak into the bottom tray. Have dried it up and reset float switch but the water seems to be coming from a pipe on the left hand side of the machine. i...

Hello,
It sounds like the leak is coming from the water intake hose.
The water intake house is located at the bottom sump of the dishwasher. To get to it the dishwasher has to be taken out and put on its back and the floor plan needs to come off. The intake hose runs from the inlet valve under your sink and attaches to the sump with a metal keeper. Overtime the part of the hose where the keeper is cracks (Normal wear and tear). As I recall the intake hose runs approx. $129.99 from Miele direct. It comes with an inlet valve on the hose. there is no separate or substitute hose you can use.

Good luck

FDW60P dishwasher. Hotpoint Aquarius Control panel not working

I phoned Hotpoint. Was told to switch everything off and take the plug out for ten minutes - I didnt do that before, I just plugged it straight back in. I did this and was able to run the machine during the night on the programme I wanted. At least if it happens again I know what to do.. This solution will cost you nothing.

Sprung the door now it won't close was emptying it and tripped over a dog

You probably need a new dishwaher. I have seen a few sprung door hinges repaired which worked OK, but most still leak after a costly repair. Your call and good luck. Ken

Location of element

Hi, Hotpoint FDW60 got a concealled element.
You need to unplug and disconnect the dw, lay it flat on its back and remove the bottom tray (depending on the final letter for your model (FDW60G, FDW60P, FDW60T) you might need to remove the side panels and kickboard to release the bottom tray). Carefull with the floater switch. You should be able to locate the element straight away. Replace it and reverse the process.

Hotpoint dishwasher

Did you have a dishwasher before? If so, you must have had a sink tail piece with a dishwasher drain coming off the side. For the connection, you may have to get an adapter to fit the end of the dishwasher drain hose to the sink tail piece. Take all pieces to hardware store if necessary to get an adapter which fits. After you connect the drain hose, make sure that the drain hose has a "high loop", meaning that the hose curls up at least 6 inches above the connection point before it goes down again. This is important to keep sink waste from getting back into the diswasher hose if the sink drain backs up.

you are probably plumbed in under the sink for the drain hose. a common problem is water coming back down the drain hose when you empty the sink. if so take the drain hose up as far as possible in a swan neck. other possibility is a leaking fill valve
