Kenmore Icemaker Kenmore frig, 8 years old, icemaker stopped making ice.

it is still under warranty,call the place you bought it

Check the water valve at the back of the fridge if present.

Even if you used blowdryer, ensure that linse are not frozen by performing a complete defrost.

Disconnect water lines from icemaker, and blow with compressor if the above did not work.

Perhaps the solution to to change out the ice maker unit

Hi!!! Also make sure that your freezer section is bet'w 5 to 10 degrees if not then you have a frig problem..If you have 10 degrees or so then you have an icemaker thermostat control problem.You have to buy another icemaker unless you can replace the icemaker thermostat inside of it..Good luck..

Hi!!! make sure your icemaker filling tube is not blocked with ice.its where the water comes into the icemaker .it can freez on you.put a hair dryer on to the filling tube and icemaker for 30 minutes. Also you can jump start the icemaker by putting a jumper wire show in this picture .If no ice then go to the back your frig and change your water valve ..


or

•  if the cubes that the icemaker makes are full size then... the water valve on the back of the machine is usually the culprit in these cases. it will not close fast enough resulting in a little overflow of water into the auger assembly every time it makes ice. it only takes a little bit of water to settle in the bottom of the pan to cause problems. 
  
• if the cubes are smaller than what you would expect then the water is leaking out right before it reaches the icemaker. either from the plastic tube behind the icemaker or the cup on the icemaker that funnels the water into the icemaker.
• it also could be the timer inside the icemaker leaving the water valve on too long.
• all these things can be tested on site. the service person must not be very well trained.

you most likely have a short in the ice maker ..the ice should be ejected before the water is call for... you need a new ice make or if you can change the ice maker head let me know and I can help

MAKE SURE THE ICEMAKER IS ON,ON OFF BUTTON OR LEVER IN DOWN POSITION,CHECK TUBE BEHIND ICE MAKER PULL IT OUT LOOK IN IT LOOK IN FREEZER HOLE TO MAKE SURE IT'S NOT FROZE UP,CHECK WATER INLET VALVE ON LOWER BACK OF FRIG.,LOOSEN CONNECTION TO SEE IF GETTING WATER,IF WATER IS COMING OUT IT IS A BAD WATER VALVE ONLY ONE SIDE TO WATER DISPENSER IS WORKING,VALVE IS NOT OPENIBG TO ICEMAKER SIDE,THANKS-MIKE
