SOURCE: Sony Vaio Laptop VGN-CR240E LCD screen flickering
Hi - I have replaced lots of LCD screens,it can be done
HOW TO REMOVE LCD PANEL OF MY ACER LAPTOP.
First ===>>> Remove all power and battery
Each machine is different in construction and size,
but they operate in the same fashion, motherboard, power inverter, lcd panel and cable connecting them together, also there may be a wireless aerial and or camera as well inside the lids frame housing the lcd screen so be careful while dismantling the front frame,it should be a good tight fit,
the lid has a base and a front panel covering the workings of the screen and wiring in a compact frame, remove the screws from the front panel and lift the front frame free from the base, remove the power panel by the screen next to the keyboard this should expose the motherboard insides, then unplug the inverter from the screen, unscrew the screws holding the the frame and carefully lie the screen on a flat surface to unplug the data cable from the rear of the screen, top of the screen rear contains IC chips required to make the pictures,
DO NOT TOUCH THESE >>> STATIC KILLS
It dosent mater if the screen is already dead just remember this when you fit the new screen
Hope this helps,Misterdj
SOURCE: Sony Vaio fan making noise
Hi:
Not sure of a user cause for the fan to run full speed, unless you are using the laptop in a high heat environment, or setting it on a bed or other area where it is not getting adequet cooling air. If it does it right away, when you turn it on , cold, then there might be a laptop hardware problem. If you leave your laptop on all the time, then you might be inducing the problem. I had a HP high performance laptop, that the fans would not turn on at all till it ran an hour or so, then they would stay on loud for 10 or 15 minutes, then shut off, then cycle.

Usually Sound from Notebook are from CPU cooling fan and from Hard drive.
But It's hardly occur in the case of Hard drive.we called it Hard drive failure and the only solution for this is new replacement.
Your problem could be CPU cooling fan not working properly. Open the Notebook ( it will be easy if you refer to manual on how to open) and start the system now, you will be able to pinpoint what causes the sound.
Clean the CPU cooling fan with an air blower and re-check if the problem still persists.
If OK,then close the Notebook otherwise replace the CPU Cooling fan with a new one.
