Database full ns-2v17b

When i turn on the device, it says "database full delete content or re-format device". and then then it says "no tracks". however if you manually go into the disk, the music files are still there.

Your database is corrupt

You have two choices here:
1) Delete the songs
2) Reformat the player

The player isn't trying to BS you

There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

ErrMsg "There is insufficient space to index your content."

Normally when you format the Rio it does not actually remove the firmware so this may not have done anything. I would advise upgrading to the 1.95 or 3.04 firmware and format then and see if this sorts the problem.

Hope this helps,

Mowcius

Cannot load the music Data base.

Music Database refers to the information you see on the screen (i.e. Artist, Album, etc.) The device needs some free space in order to create this list.

The device is either too full, or the database is corrupt.

First, try connecting to your PC and deleting about 10 to 15 tracks. Restart the device and see if that helps.

If not, Try formatting the device thru My Computer>Device name (U10)>Right Click and select format.(this will erase everything on the device)

Best of Luck.

Deleting tracks

You may have a memory allocation error. You can "format" the device thru My Computer, that should resolve it. Go to My Computer>Device name, right click and select format. This will delete all contents. Best of Luck.
