Hello Sir,
OK, So according to you the phone just enables Loud Speaker not the Normal Voice Output Jack. But First, I want to tell you that a phone has different output jacks for the Earpeice ( the normal Speaker ) and for the Loud Speaker. If the phone is enabling the Loud Speaker only then its obvious that the Phone's is not being able to initiate the Normal Voice Output Jack. Thus my advice is to take it to a Service Center and get the Earpeice Changed or if possible, repaired.
Thank you Sir, Have a nice day.
On the bottom of your laptop there is a sticker from the maker indicating your model version, as there are about five different versions of the Presario 700 series. I need to know what that model version is to get you compatible sound drivers to install or install again. This should fix your problem, and if it doesn't you have a mechanical malfunction in the headphone jack, which when a plug is inserted should disable your speakers.
