I have a singer futura 250 machine with automatic needle threader. I have raised the needle to the highest position, crossed the thread behind the large hook, then pressed the lever down (this is where the problem starts) my threader will not go through the eye of the needle to catch the thread. it instead is on either side of the needle so when I hook it, it is not going through the eye..it is off to the right side and will not thread through no matter how many times I have tried. Please help

Most likely the needle threader is out of normal position. The threaders are pretty delicate mechanisms and can be bent easily.

Check on the threader and see if the part that goes through the eye of the needle is bent. This is a very common problem. The threaders are becoming more and more difficult to replace. If the piece is bent, you can usually use a pair of tweezers to straighten it out.

The small hook that passes through the eye of the needle is bent or broken. If it is only bent it can be straightened with a small screw driver. If it is broken it will need to be replaced. Most dealers can get this part for you for about $5.00

SOURCE: I can't raise the bobbin thread. The needle raises before the bobbin thread can 'catch'

readjust the hook to just grab the thread loop as the needle raises it will take a few tries to get the exact setting for the hook (maybe you will see a mark on the hook shaft to show you where the hook's set screw was located before it slipped)

Sounds to me that your machine is out of time. I recommend you take it to your local repair center.

I believe if you lower the needle all the way into the case when you adjust that, you should be able to find a happy medium.

Needle threader won't work on my Singer 4423

Hi there,

The needle threader hook is very tiny and easily bent or damaged.
The needle threader is designed not to turn, if the needle is not at its most upper position to protect the threader - Turn hand wheel until needle reaches its highest position.
Needle not alining with threader hook - Replace needle.
Threader hook bent - Replace with new needle threader hook.

Hope this helps.

Read more from the link I attatched.

Good luck & have a nice day!

I cannot get the CE-250 automatic needle threader to work. Threader and needle do not align up together.

Always make sure you rotate flywheel to raise the needle to its highest position before trying to use the threader. additionally the correct needle has to also be used so the threader wire and needle eye line up properly.

How do i thread my needle with the singer handy stitch?

  1. Loosen needle screw & insert needle with shank's flat side facing front of machine. Push needle in all the way, then tighten screw to hold needle in place.
  2. Install a fully wound bobbin by loosening bobbin nut & placing bobbin on top. Re-attach bobbin nut & tighten. If standard thread spool will be used, then attach spool pin to bobbin shaft & place thread spool onto shaft. Attach white spool cap on end of thread spool, then tighten. Bobbin/spool should unwind facing forward toward needle.
  3. Bring end of thread through thread guides & over tension control. Pass end of thread through needle eye, from back to front, & pull it out about two inches.
  4. A spring pushes pressor foot onto fabric that is being sewn, so lift pressor foot & place fabric underneath.
  5. Turn large handwheel on side of machine (handwheel can be turned in either direction) to raise needle arm to its highest position.
  6. Holding the Handy Stitch in place with your right hand, press on power switch & begin sewing. Guide fabric (being sewn) with your left hand.
  7. To end this sewing session, turn off power. Turn handwheel to raise needle to its highest position. Carefully pull out about three inches of thread through needle & snip, then lift pressor foot to remove fabric. Turn fabric over & loop needle threader through last stitch. Place end of thread from underside through eye of needle threader, & pull to loop through. Pull to tighten and snip end of thread.

My needle broke and I replaced it per instructions. Now my automatic threading will not work. I've taken the needle out and put it back in. I;ve made sure the needle is in the highest position. I love...

Make sure the little hook is lined up with the hole in the needle and that your needle is not inserted backwards. Flat side should face the rear of the machine,

How do you thread a pfaff 7570

If only we could put video links in here! But here goes:

Raise the presser foot;
Turn the hand wheel until the take-up lever (the hook bit that goes up and down, above the needle ) has reached its highest position;
Remove the small spool holder from the horizontal thread holder that is under the lid. Put thread reel onto spool, replace spool holder;
Pull thread behind first thread guide - it is the cream flat plastic bit towards the back - about 1" x 3/4" (i.e. the thread takes the first exit at the back);
Bring it down the left-hand long slot on the front of the machine, back up the right-hand slot, over the hook of the take-up lever, back down the right-hand slot and pass it from the side between the thread guide (silver metal bit just above the needle - looks a bit like curled metal). I found this last guide the most difficult to figure out - tried to get the thread into the curled bit - but you don't do that - it just slips in behind;
Thread goes through the eye of the needle. You can use the needle threader or not. Instructions for needle threader:

Lower sewing foot (makes more room and clamps the thread in the upper tension discs so it is less likely to keep spooling off while you are trying to thread);
Turn handwheel until the needle is in highest position;
Pull the needle threader straight down and then twist it to the front so the tiny hook on the threader goes through the eye of the needle;
Take thread under the larger metal hook on the left, put your thumb on it to stop it coming off, thread goes back towards the needle and under the small hook that is poking through the needle from the back;
Twist the needle threader towards the rear, releasing the thread carefully and allow the threader to move upwards. There should be a loop of thread left in the eye of the needle and you can now pull it all through to the back.

That sounds really complicated but I find the Pfaff needle threader works really well, unlike that of some other machines. I also have a Husqvarna Designer 1 whose needle threader works great, but the one on my friend's Designer SE is useless. Go figure!

How do I theard the needle on the 5050C singer machine?

does the machine have a needle threader? first if so, pull it down and put the thread behind the left side of the threader and loop the thread around toward the needle then go behind the finger of the threader hold the thread back against the needle and slightly pull upwards pull the threader forward and gently let go with the right hand of the thread and the needle will pull the thread through, second if the machine doesn't have a threader, the easiest way to thread a needle is to buy a needle threader, it is a device that you put through the eye of the needle and put the thread through its hole then just pull the threader back out and the needle is threaded.

Janome MC 10001 auto. needle threader stuck in up position.

You are threading the top of the machine incorrectly.

Make sure the needle is in correctly with the flat side to the rear of the machine, make sure to thread the upper and lower portions of the machine correctly. If this does not solve your problem, please respond.

Automatic needle threader on brother se-350

Hi - first, make sure that you raise the needle to as far up as it will go. When you thread the machine, make sure you pass the thread through each number along the path - there is a hook on the threader mechanism that is really easy to miss. It is always a good idea to refer to the book when you are having a problem.

You might also try changing the needle. The threader has a teeny hook that goes in to the eye of the needle from behind, grabs the thread, and pulls it back thru the eye of the needle.

The threader can go out of alignment. If you got the machine last fall, it should still be under warranty. You can call Brother and ask where you can take the machine for repair. Or, you can go to Brother's website and look for information that might be helpful.

Good luck,
Ginny
