Hello Disconnect all speakers and switch ON the set without any input connected, and see whether it heats up. A moderate heat is permissable, but should not over heat. If it overheats without any load or input connected, the set need service. OK.
Try unplugging all of the speakers and see if that amp is still distressed. If it looks clean and happy start adding speakers until it returns (or not).
Check that both left and right channels work on A speakers. If they do, the amplifier is probably good and your problem may be outside the amplifier.
Try swapping the left and right speaker connections at the back of the amp to see if the problem changes from left to right. this would tell you if the problem is in the amp or out to the speakers.
Hope this helps
Hi,
Just came accross your post accidentically, while reparing my own C320BEE. May be it 's too late for you now, but it could help others: I had the very same symptoms as you described and after a long search found out that the trouble was R45 in one of the 18V regulators. (R45: 33 ohms 1/2W fuse resistor, situated more or less half-way between the two "metal towers" on the main board. Replace by a somewhat stronger type 1W or so.
Likewise R46.)
