Hi, first check the keyboard is on (there is power on for the keyboard and mouse device in the newer type of laptops) and while the windows start before boot see the num light is blink and the power on will blink. if it will not blink. Goto the bios setup and here while you switch on the system press the DEL or F2 key. it will goes to the bios setup and see the keyboard is enable. if it will not work then you have check with the other usb or ps/2 keyboard connect it and try it . if prob comes again inform to fixya.com

How do I switch on a numeric keyboard on Asus R510 l laptop please?

Hi
Having found the manual for your laptop here:
http://dlcdnet.asus.com/pub/ASUS/nb/X550CC/E_eManual_X550CC_X550VB_X550VC_VER7926.pdf
I can't say I'm surprised that you couldn't find the key combination to toggle the number pad. The manual says this is on "selected models" so it is not impossible to find that you don't have a number pad. However on the assumption that you do then you need a combination of the shift and number lock / scroll lock, according to page 42 of the manual. The full keyboard layout is shown on page 14.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya

I have a acer aspire 8935g it says it has a backlit keyboard but i dont no how to turn it on how o i do this

To turn on the Back-lit Keyboard, you must use a key combination:
1. Hold down the Fn key (left side beside the ctrl key) and then press the F9 key.
This key combo would also disable the back lighting if pressed again.
Hope this helps.

Key Board

Hi,

I'm not familiar with this laptop but all I have worked on in the past have a series of tabs along the top of the keyboard, usually I can use a jewellers screw driver to gently ease one tab back at a time and then slip in something like a credit card to keep the tab back.

Once you have all of the tabs held back you should be able to lift the keyboard out.

Hope this helps

Nick

I cannot enable the wireless connection on the compaq Evo n1000c

For the built-in wireless on this model (EVO N1000C) the key combination to enable/disable wireless is Fn + F2. If pressing the Fn and F2 keys together does not enable the wireless, it may be disabled in the BIOS.

If you need to check this, here are the instructions to enter the BIOS:
Turn off the computer. Power it on and immediately start tapping the F10 key about once per second until you see the BIOS screen.

Help

I assume yo have WinXP.

Go into control panel>Regional & Language... Change your location to whatever you want it to be.  Keyboard assigned symbols are supposed to change accordingly.  But the keyboard printing remains the same so you need an "overlay" for your country.

You can also customize it to some degree also.  Play around with it and have some fun.
