How to Convert AVI to MOV on Mac OS X Lion
You might have many AVI files, either from digital camcorders, like
Cannon, shared from a friend who has a PC or downloaded from the
Internet, stored on your hard drive. And Apple has reported
that "Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames
per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format" is
playable on Mac and iOS devices. But
if your AVI
files are happened to be other AVI files instead of those usable ones,
e.g. they are encoded with a codec that QuickTime can't recognize, like
DivX, XviD, in these cases, if you want to add these AVI videos to iTunes for organizing,
edit AVI in iMovie, or playback on your iPad, iPod or iPhone, etc., you need to convert AVI to MOV or other iOS and Mac OS compatible formats.
If you have QuickTime Pro installed, you can convert AVI to MOV
Mac directly. Just choose MOV as the output format by selecting "Save
as". If you don't have QuickTime Pro installed or QT pro can't convert
the AVI successfully, you can use this professional yet easy to use

I just got an RP5050, and also have not been able to transfer files to my Macs. I suspect the flash memory in it is only formatted for a PC, tho' I'm not expert on such things. I've sent them (RCA Support) and email to see if they have any suggestions.
Dan
I connected the RCA digital recorder RP5120 device to my mac and all of the file were automatically deleted from the recorder & I can not find them on my mac. Any help would be really appreciated. I really need the recordings.
I've owned my RP5022 for quite a while now, & in the meantime I switched from Windo$z PCs to Mac.
When I turn on my RCA & plug it into my Mac's USB port, nada happens. I went to RCA's Support site for the 5012 & the only SW they offer for DL is for Win98, & another for WinXP & up.
Any out there have a solution to this prob??
TIA

I'm thinking I may have to borrow a friend's PC, convert to MP3 and burn to CD???? i have RP5120 and Mac OS 10.5.6.
The Mac 'sees' the RP5120, I can see the files in there including the .exe file. I have to deal with windows enough at work, I don't want to have to put it on my Mac too.
I think I've come up with a solution.
Maybe.

Virtual PC.
Yesterday I finally got a good & fairly fast version of windows --win2000-- loaded into VPC via an ISO file, & so far 2000 is working like a charm.
It sees the USB ports & everything attached to them, so the RCA ought to work fine I suppose (uggg... back to windo$z "maybe's" again....).
