Strange shutting off - now it wont turn on... help?!?!

We just had a very short sudden thunderstorm and our lights did not even go out but our tv shut off suddenly. (it is plugged into a surge protector and the other things plugged into the same surge protector did not shut off) Now it wont go back on... but when we first unplugged it and plugged it back in the lights came on and then turned off right away. (not the screen but the little lights at the bottom marked on timer, program timer, angle) The tv is a panasonic about 3 or 4 years old. but lightly used. is it fixable??

I have owned three tv/vcr/dvd combos. The same thing happened to my previous two. They were maybe a couple of years old each, I just ended up throwing them away. I couldn't find anyone in Kissimmee/St.Cloud area that would fix it. No one wants to fix tvs anymore. But exactly the same thing happened. They were working properly and all of a sudden they shut off and never went back on. I would see those lights go on when the tv was plugged but never came on again. I think there is a fault in this brand of tv.

What's the most likely problem with my 50" LG 50LN5100 LED LCD TV. The standby light illuminates when plugged-in but the screen doesn't come on nor is there any sound when the TV is turned on.

Thunderstorm over the coax or /and the power supply measure the power supply by a defect cannot be measured anymore over an analog hand adjustable power Variac transformer from 0 to 240 volt. because a protection can be given by a defect t-con board (as suggestion) but the variac its good to bypass/ overhaul the build-in safety protection circuit inside the power supply board then sometime if there else are broken or bad components hard to find they can be sometimes intentional burning out or become warmer by twist the variac power slowly up from of zero volt until the max necessary voltage T-con boards that can have a problem with smd components sometimes they can burning out the defects but its only to do if there is no equipment to measure repair or nothing was to find without a service manual or other optical defects , an short-circuit tuner also by thunderstorm sometimes only the little ceramic capacitors what hangs to earth (chassis) if the thunder energy was coming over the antenna coax cable. the power supply can stand in a safe protection mode. then a refurbished board somewhere can be necessary that will give a reset to release the protection mode in the power supply.. Thunderstorm can be strange and much different and i have had 2 times repairing when there was only 1 ceramic short-circuit ceramic capacitor to find thats was with one leg is( on cold-earth) on the chassis. as the one and only defect component. A time in a TV and 1 time in a radio , sometimes its realy strange but comes it over the power supply its hard to find because of more recurring complaints if partial repair in smd circuits. hard to do without necessary tools.

When I turn the tv on the light turn green then turn right back red

tried to disconnect all the sources that have been hooked up to the tv that might cause of shut off. if still the same issue suddenly shut down, at this time you will need to check if their is a shorted in the inverter board for back light or power supply failure.if under warranty you can ask for assistance at the supplier to check the unit.

VIZIO M320NV IT TURNS ON SHOWS THE VIZIO ON SCREEN THEN TURNS ITSELF OFF?

to diagnosed where the cause came from, first place to be done disconnect the connector that supply to the inverter board for screen back light which may have shorted line that can cause of suddenly shut off. then tried to turn on the tv with out the ballast board, if the supply from the power supply get stable and the indicator stay with out blinking that was mean the ballast board could be bad. by the way you must replaced first bulged capacitor at the power supply board. hope this can helped good luck.

I have the Sony KF-50WE620 projection tv, its 2004 model and suddenly doesn't work anymore. When I turn the tv on, the light steadily blinks green and there is a strange shattering/windchimey sound that...

it could be the lamp but it might also be what is called the color wheel.. have you checked the lamp .,, have you removed and physically looked at the lamp. also does the light blink after shutdown.

Tv wont power up makes a noise but no picture

Your power transformer is likely shot. It'll cost at least $200 to have it replaced. Someone can come to your house to diagnose it. Usually costs around $65.

TV doesn't turn on

When the set is turned on, the computer senses that something is wrong and immediately shuts the set back off. The standby LED will then blink a code, a certain number of blinks, to indicate exactly why the set was shut down. It is possible that your audio output IC is shorted, as this would make a pop or strange noises in the speaker just before the set shuts down, which it does to protect your speakers from burning up. The set should be looked at by a qualified tech familiar with Sony TV's.
