We just installed a new Maytag Bravos dryer and right from the beginning it "thumps". The service tech said he may need to replace the drum. On a brand new unit never ran, we are having a problem accepting a repair. Thoughts?

Usually if a dryer thumps,bumps and squeals it has to do with the drum glides or the rollers. The drum has a felt ring on the back and is lipped, it is possible that the drum slipped. Since it is new I would ask for another new one, as the question is how many more problems are going to happen. Hope this helped Tim

Did you call the factory,if it's under a year it should still be under warranty,you shouldn't have to pay a thing,i would have a problem with that too.

Sounds like you need new drum rollers, so you need to disassemble the front of the machine and remove drum replace all drum rollers and idler pulley also check blower for damage.

F09 error on Maytag Bravos 10156733A Dryer

The only problem is going to be is the control board. I am not aware of the "error code F06" so this makes it even more likely that the control board is bad. I get all my parts thru AppliancePartsPros since they give a 365 day, any part, any reason return policy which is great. Here is the board to order.

A lot of these are malfunctioning due to the small belt and pulley that drives the blower falls off. It is recommend lock tite on the nut will fix the problem.

It is safe to use the dryer, I don't see any foreseen future to other parts. But the idler definately is flat(tening). It should be replaced asap.

Hello, Thank You for using FixYa. I will be helping you today.Use a putty knife to push in the lock tabs just under the lid or top in each corner push in firm and lift the top. When the top is open there are two screws one on each side holding the front on remove and lift the whole front. That's it....And if its the blower belt that comes off we are suppose to put locktite on the pulley to stop that from happening..

Dryer has thumping noise.

Yes that is what most likely is the problem to begin with. The drum usually never goes out of round . Replace bearing best choice

Maytag Bravos top load gives LF code not working. Any idea?

Have same problem. Service tech said LF code is caused by low water pressure coming into machine. Tech verified water flow looked fine, getting new controller installed tomorrow.

My new dryer thumps every revolution

Flat spots on the support rollers from sitting in storage will make a thump. So will heavy wet clothes if they are not spun dry enough from the washer. This may lessen as the unit is used but since it is in warranty a service call to rule out major problems is in order.
