My LG LCD TV has trouble turning on. It requires several attempts.

Yes,it will,eventually will not power the tv up all.U have tools like a soldering iron,desoldering pump or desoldering braids and solders?Can u do basic soldering and understanding basic electronic?The power supply board,that the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.That the tv power supply board.The power supply board have these dying leaking parts call capacitors.These dying leaking capacitors are alway have bulges up on it tops or puffing up on it tops.These dying capacitors that the cause of the deplaying powering up ur tv.Replaced these dying and leaking capacitors,that are bulging up on it tops or puffing up on it tops.The tv will power up wright away and work.Or tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement.

If your LCD TV or monitor has stopped working, or is displaying one of the following symptoms, then it's a candidate for some new capacitors
- Flickering screen
- Screen image disappears after several seconds
- Dim screen
- Slow start
- Power LED on, but no picture
- Unusual colors and/or lines
The primary cause of LCD TV and monitor failure is caused by faulty capacitors. You can examine the capacitors in your LCD TV or monitor and actually see if they are bad.
If they appear bulged on top, then they need to be replaced.
New capacitors will solve a host of problems in LCD monitors and TV's and will extend the life of your monitor or TV by several years.
Check the cables, connectors and connections.
Take it to a repair shop.

LG 47" LCD shuts down several times w/ blinking red light.
Granger1212 we had the same problem. We called LG and although our LG was out of warranty by 4 months, we were asked to supply our proof of purchase and LG sent a serviceman to our home and in 2 days we had our television back working wonderfully. It's the power supply, call LG and BE NICE, I'm sure they will fix it.

I belive the repair shop might be try to get more money from you
if you enscrew the back of the tv ( with the tv unplugged ) look for a flat wirestrip thats not connected
I think they either forgot to plug in that video wire or they did it to make money from you

did it work fine before the dim screen or did it come back to you like that?
