I suggest not to plug the printer to your computer yet. Download and install the software first. For the software, click on this link: http://bit.ly/aYhzo4. Choose the version of the operating system of your computer by clicking on the Microsoft or Macintosh dropdown found below the page. Download and install the software. Follow the instructions on the software. Hope this helps.

Won't scan

1. From CONTROL PANEL choose ADD REMOVE PROGRAMS
2. Uninstal ALL Lexmark stuff.
3. Reboot
4. Download latest software from lexmark.com for your scanner.
5. Install ONLY the latest driver (not from your CD)
6. Reboot.

Lexmark x3550 colour all in one printer

  1. Go to the Lexmark Find Drivers/Product Selector page.
  2. Enter Lexmark X3550 under "Search by Model", and click the Search button.
  3. Select your OS from the dropdown (Win2k in your case).
  4. Click Download Now.
  5. If you're asked to Save or Run, choose to Run (it keeps you from having to go find the file and double-click it later).
