Mine is actually a c240, but I'm hoping someone can help. There was no instruction manual when I bought it (oversight at the factory, I'm assuming). I got online at the Sansa website, but could not make heads or tails out of how to do it. I am not good with new technology (or even old technology, for that matter) and have to have things explained to me step-by-step as if I were 3 years old (I would have said 5 years old, but my 5-year-old niece knows a lot more about computers and things already than I). Anyway, can you please instruct me on how to delete individual songs? My daughter has a Sansa clip and it has an option on it to delete individual songs (which I LOVE), but not my c240. I have some songs that only partially loaded and when I have tried to load them onto the player again, it won't accept them (gives me the message they are already on the device). Please help!
Connect the Sansa to the computer.
On the computer, Go into Start --> all Programs --> Windows Media Player
When Windows Media Player is open, make sure you have version 10 or 11.
Find the icon of your Sansa on the left-hand side - click the plus sign next to the Sansa
Click on the songs folder
Click on a song name
Hit "delete" on your keyboard
The song is erased.

Hook up your mp3 player to your computer Go to your desktop and double left click on "My Computer" When it opens you will see listing that says "Devices with Removal Storage" your mp3 player should be listed there. Right click on your mp3 player, and a window will open, right click on "Open" and now your files/songs should be visible. Hold the left click down and drag it across all the files/songs that you do not want this will highlight the files/songs you do not want, release, right click and then click on "Delete" Now you mp3 player should be clear of the files/songs you do not want. I have a dffierent mp3 player Colby with a usb and I had the same problem. Try deleting the songs from the device itself. If you go into folder view if you havet hat option and choose the song it says to play or delet, at least that is what mine says. It may take awhile to do it one song at a time, but you should have the option of deleting the songs from the actual mp3 player.
I also had minenot show up, mine was do to deleting some of the software off of the player to make more room for songs. I never used podcasts and other files that came on it, so after I deleted them my songs stopped showing up. I just copy the songs to my mp3 player now, and delete them one by one. Hope this helps you.
I've worked mine out. When I put the songs on my MP3 I used Vista, I then changed to an XP install and this is when I couldn't see the songs on my MP3 player. When I went back to my Vista install I could see and edit the songs. Now I have cleaerd it I can go back to my XP install and use it as normal again. Basically you need to use the same version of windows you put the songs on with to edit them.
I had the same problem, but only for one album's tracks. I've fixed it by connecting the player to my PC, opening Windows Explorer, then deleting the songs listed under the Artist and Album folders, and then I found a separate entry for each individual song and deleted those too. Maybe I'd accidentally added the album twice at some stage.
If you go under settings there is a reset there. You should also be able to access your songs from your PC when u plug in your USB & could delete songs there. Might also want to look into getting a micro SD if u don't already have one. Good luck!
There are a few different possibilities. 1)Your subscription to your digital music service such as Napster, etc has expired. Sorry - unless you renew your subscription, you will not be able to play these songs again. 2) Your songs have DRM-encryption on them. To check and see, right click on an individual song name in Windows Media Player, and click on "License" or "Digital Rights"; if the affected songs have DRM encryption, then get DRM-removal software. 3) Your songs do NOT have DRM-encryption on them. In this instance, follow the procedure for item#2, except click on the link in the License or digital Rights tab that says "acquire license" (make sure you are connected to the internet first).
